Does anybody know anything about Win English Institute or have any experiences working there? It's a small place near Dangsan station in Seoul.
Thanks.

Find out if this school is connected to Win Education - the operator of rip-off After-School Programmes.

Apparently you have to post 25 times on here before you can pm anybody so i can't do that. Sorry. I think i've made a decision already anyway but i just thought i'd try and see if the place has had any serious dramas in the past. Cheers.

Win offers lies in the place of true accounting with regard to tabulating the teachers' earnings.

They ripped off at least 3 chicks I know...

I work at a public after school for Win Education. They haven't ripped me off in any way, except that when I was hired they said I'd get medical, but they refuse to give it to me, instead saying that they only pay up to 200$ a month if you send in your receipts.

I was pretty pissed off at that part, but other than that, I love working for them. The teaching hours are sweet and you get lots of holidays. Mostly good curriculum.

After schools are an absolute schyst! Never take a job that doesn't give you medical. After the Bill Kapoun tragedy, tell them to stuff it up their ass if they don't provide you with medical insurance.

Do you have two bank accounts by any chance?

Yup, of course I have 2 banks accounts. I thought most after schools did that. Why do they do that anyway?

I interviewed (phone) with WIN among many others when I was deciding to make the move. What didn't fly with me was the director did not want me to speak directly with a foreign teacher there. She gave me an e-mail address which to me means absolutely nothing. It could be anyone responding saying the place is as cool as the other side of the pillow, when in reality it's the 7th circle of hell. Also, the contract they sent for me to look over was vague. A few missing articles and some new stuff I hadn't seen before. LOTS OF OVERTIME. I decided to keep looking and found something better in no time. I'll be leaving on the 8th of June and I am really excited. My advice is this: show a little interest but keep looking and soon you'll have 5 or 6 contracts to compare...then decide for yourself. Good luck and see you out there.

The WIN that I am talking about is a company. They have teachers in over 60 public after school jobs. They aren't a hogwan and there are no directors, and there is no overtime. I think you are talking about a different WIN.
