On the way home from work I noticed a plethora of dumpster dive-able goodies in the rubbish heap outside of our apartment. Unfortunately there was nothing that we needed, but I was thinking that it would be a good idea to start a thread where people can notify others when there are nice chairs, dressers, tables, etc. in their recycling area that they aren't going to use.....this would probably only work in and around Seoul (where I am not located) but thought I would pass on the idea. And before the barrage of anti-dumpster diving comments comes flooding in....say what you wish but our apartment is full is really nice things that people just couldn't take with them when they moved. |

Not a bad idea, but from what I've seen it's not that practical.
Items of decent quality usually don't last more than an hour on the streets I live by. |

today i saw a dude on the street taking used cups out of the rubbish bin and adding them back to the stack for the water cooler outside his store before he took the bag of rubbish away....
I will never ever use anything in this country that i have to assume is clean |

Yes, even the water fountain at a hagwon... little girl comes up to it, even with the paper cups on the side she goes straight to the source, sucking straight from it... freaking disgusting....
but as for dumpster diving, that's a sport for kings (not yet with a kingdom of their own). |

That's a good point...stuff outside my place seems to have more shelf life. |

This is the place for free stuff. EVERYTHING is offered for free.
On the dumpster diving note, in HBC there are Koreans that drive around on scooters snatching up stuff every night. |
