I have a water bill which is 2 months overdue, the previous tenant has paid my water bills and I recently realized I haven't paid any water bills.

I used to take water bills to my IBK bank but they kept declining to put it through the ATM.

Any ideas where I could pay this bill? The son of my houseowner suggested I pay it at Kookmin or Soohyup Bank.

My own bank suggested somewhere called Dongyap, or something like that.

Anybody know? I will try Soohyup tomorrow and if it doesn't work try Dongyap, wherever that is. If it is Dongyap, I'll ask a guy at school to write it in Korean.

Thanks.

I assume that by Dongyup, you mean Nonghyup. It's colors are green and gold.

They will have a machine separate from the ATM's for paying bills. You should be able to show your bill to a teller and go from there. There is usually a security guard nearby this machine to help anybody who has trouble. Judging by your history on this board, I'd say you are one of those people. If your water bill has a portion on it with OCR printed on it. This is the part that will go in the machine. The machine will then show the total and you press the green button. Pretty soon, out pops a receipt and you are on your way. Cha-ching biatch. Daddy's back in business.

If your water bill doesn't have a portion with OCR, then it's time to talk with the teller.

Thank you. I usually pay bills without any problem, it's just the water I can't pay at my bank. Thanks again.

I went to Nonghyup bank today and they said I couldn't pay the water bill because the previous tenant paid through their bank.

The bank teller appeared to say even though the last payment for water was made in Feb 08, I wouldn't get cut off by the end of May (3 months after non-payment). She appeared to say I will get a new bill in June.

To set up an account in my name, I was told I need a copy of the contract between my houseowner and school, which confirms I live there.

So, will the water be cut off? Or will I simply get a new bill in June?

Thanks.
