I think the racist undertone of the article is aimed at Phillipinos, but its such bollocks, i mean the cities are jammed with brothels and quite simply there ain't that many foreigners here to fill em up (no pun intended); Koreans supply the demand. They neglect to even mention that fact at all in the 'article'

Honestly, this standard of journalism; it's like reading the fucking Viz.

After reading that, I truly hope that this country gets blown up soon.

I was reading it in my lunch and nearly spat out my green tea, it's so infuriating.

Really, that article is outrageous. I don't think it's alone, though.

I ran out of gas on my motorbike one night in the boonies. I flagged passing cars and no-one would stop. Tired of this, I walked to the nearest house with a light on (it was 11pm). I met an unmarried couple, living common law. She was originally from Seoul but, 6 years ago, moved to the country because of doctor's advice (weak heart). Where she worked as a dressmaker doing contract work. Her partner was a vet, apparently, but got out of that and works as a carpenter. I told her that I'd waved to cars but NO-ONE would stop.

She said that the media, so often, talks about foreigners as having criminal tendencies. A very level-headed, unorthodox pair of people, about 35, who'd opted out of the ratrace.

Yup it's true, in any society, on the ground there are still a load of really sound sensible people.

a stupid article causes you to hope that millions of people die?

Do you think he is serious, or that he was exaggerating for the purpose of drama?

well, your guess is as good as mine, but IMO it's not normal for people to wish death on an entire country because they get offended over an article, even allowing for hyperbole.

Actually I was hoping that the whole country gets blown up with zero fatalities. Where in my post did I wish death on anyone?

``These days, most sexually transmitted diseases can be cured due to newly developed high-powered vaccines,'' said Jung Jong-pil, a medical doctor in Paju. ``But many illegal foreign workers miss the timing of treatment.''

Hrm. Which ones? HPV is prevented these days with a vaccine but one should get that in your early teens. The clap/syphilis is cured with an antibiotic, not a vaccine. And vaccines are of little help after you've been infected. If you're bit by a dog, you get a vaccine because you know rabies has gestation period. You can spin up the antibodies before the virus starts to multiple. But you have a very short window. If the virus starts multiplying, the vaccine won't do dck to the doc to the phd. A herpes vaccine is only at the experimental stage.

Either Jung is talking out of his ass, as Korean doctors are wont to do, or they translated what he had to say incorrectly.

Yeh I noticed this aswell, pretty funny. I love the quote from the K *beep* as well '``I've heard that some foreign customers spend all their income to buy sex.''

So a *beep* has 'heard' that some foreigners spend 100 percent of their income on whores. I'm not being funny, but I dont think Phillipinos come all the way over here to bankrupt themselves through their illicit whoring. Call me old fashioned, but I reckon they come here to save money and make a better life for themselves.
