The government is lowering F-2 visa standards. Now efl-ers can expand into government posts.
Many foreigners are no doubt licking their chops at the chance to immigrate to Korea.

Alternate reality: Imagine a situation where Korean women were known as the ugliest in the world. 300 lbs each at their thinnest with huge faces.
In this alternate reality, realistically, honestly, and truly, how many EFL-ers would have stayed in korea past 1 year?

For me, I likely wouldn't have stayed. I only stayed for 5 years because each year I met somebody and I didn't want to break up. Each time I believed, perhaps naively, that 'this would work out.'

The money don't really matter. My pay fluctutated with exams, like an hourly thing, so I made more some months, less the next, saved here and there. Never cared to do privates. I figure I can work for a nice salary if I find a regular job in North America. In the meantime, just enjoy every minute in Korea.

The job. Teaching is just teaching. I worked in a hagwon where the korean teachers were given all responsibility for student enrollment, so I just did the teaching without worry that students would complain.

Anyways, if you want to live in korea full time, F Visa style, chances are your goals are misguided, and you are convincing yourself otherwise.

Umm.. I stay because I love my husband and am happy here. I don't think that is misguided.
