And why on Earth reference Ideotech - the title at the top of your pile? I absolutely fucking hate this track. Yorke's vocals are tuneless, whiney and suicide-inducingly depressing. Why don't Rhead fans get together, torture a baby, record it, and mix it with a cacophonous assault upon decency and aesthetics and make a million bucks?

Ha ha ha Laughing

Like I said...even some radiohead fans hate that song . But those that like it love it beyond compare . In my opinion you've got to indulge in a little bit of Necrophobia to appreciate some radiohead. It's "fear" music . It's about w@nking off in the metaphorical face of death . But with that said the band is very versatile and shouldn't be labelled . After listening to Tool I can't get over the teenage angst vibe . Radiohead superfically may seem to be full of self indulged self pity but it's more about cdelebrating and finding the beauty in tragedy rather than moaning like a little teenager about it . For me that the difference .

Well that's my little touchy feely post for the week . You can all fekk off .

No band epitomizes childish, totally infantile angst, than Radiohead. Admittedly their Kid A material is probably too complex and strange for anything other than an adult audience, but it's still largely negative and only rarely uplifting with horrible, samey vocals and overall aesthetic. The Bends and Creep are manifestations of teen angst.

Tool don't whine and they are far too complex, long, unusual, abstract for anything other than a largely adult audience. Tool destroy and they transcend. They forcefeed you LSD and scatter you light years across the universe.

I like the Radiohead song Everything in its right place very much, but terribly unimpressed otherwise. I don't even like Ok Computer anymore.

Tool seems more commercial than Radiohead.

Tool seems to subscribe to a certain lifestyle, where as Radiohead is looking for a new style of sound and letting their listeners follow.

Both are alright, I prefer Radiohead, but Pavement is better than both!!

Edit: to be fair, I have not listened to Tool extensively. But not my cup of tea either way... Some cool cinematography of their music videos though.

If you want heavy music, check out Boris. Boris is ten times radder than tool in every way. Loudest show I have ever been too.

Nah . Almost all the "goths" I met at university were into tool . I hate angsty, silly, angry music for the sake of it. I think you will find radiohead are a bit more quirky than you give them credit for. I certainly don't find they take themselves too seriously , although there was a stage ....

Radiohead make concept albums rather than try to fill the bill with catchy hits . No two radiohead albums are the same (well..except kid a and amnesiac which where written at the same time) . You could release an album of radiohead B sides and it'd be better than a "best of" tool in my opinion. But I respect your right to enjoy whatever you want .

I love both bands.

I think anyone who says either one of these bands sucks is extremely closed minded, and in the case of a band vs. band debate, obviously biased.

They both do their thing, and both bands are extremely unique. They're both f*cking sick.

I didn't vote, but I'll give Radiohead the nod if Im asked who I like more, just because they have the ability to change directions and play whatever style of music they want in a split second.
