Once again and I hope I am not rehashing something!

What if a person has a previous criminal charge in their record. When will they be refused a E-2 visa. I possibly might have a record. I committed what I call a minor crime. It is NOT related to drugs or alcohol (DUI, public intoxication), sex (no rape, molestation), or fighting

Heck I will go right out and say it THEFT.

I have looked around the previous posts and have not got an real good answers.

The only two things I have is
one from is the quote from the HIKorea page on Visas
http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/InfoDetailR_en.pt?categoryId=2&parentId=382&catSeq=385&showMenuId=374&visaId=E2

Quote:
※Those that list history of drug usage, AIDS, or other disease the law defines as serious contagious disease in their self health verification are not allowed to be issued a visa issuance certificate

but that is in relation to the health check section.

Two somebody telling they had a friend who had a drug conviction who is still working in Korea. This one I take with the grain of salt as the person is likely teaching on a visa that was started before the whole E-2 changes came along.

Also, my boss (soon to be previous) told me he called immigration and they said that "what I had done over 10 years ago" would get me refused. But this is immigration and you will get a different answer from each official and from each phone call.

So once again what crime will get a person refused a E-2 visa!

So if anybody out there has any real info and details about people being refused an E-2 to a previous crime. Please do tell!

Thanks

There are steps that can be taken to have your record cleaned if enough time has passed. Don't know if that applies in your case, but it's worth looking into.

Yea. If push comes to shove I will do my best to get my record cleared - Pardoned. But that can take months and money.

I am just hopping I can get a good clear answer. So people who have a drunken disorderly, smoking some dope with friends 5 years ago, or something that will not endanger anybody will not be ruined.

Thanks for the thought!
