1997 Tuned Hyundai Tiburon for sale. This is a very clean, fast and fun car. The car is in great condition for it's age. This isn't the typical beater that you would expect for a car this age. I haven't seen a better looking 97 Tiburon in Seoul.
2.0 engine (worked), 5 speed manual transmission, cold air induction, headers, MSD wiring, and performance exhaust.
15 inch custom wheels with new Falken tires, MacPherson struts with offset coil springs, and stabilizer bar.
Sony sound system (cd, am/fm, amplifier). 6 speaker system with high, mid-range, and lows.
Tinted windows, tilt steering, rear window defog, rear spoiler, power locks and windows, alarm, and sliding sunroof.
Working A/C and heat.
Sky GPS/MP3 will be included.
The body and mechanics are in very good condition. The oil was recently and has been regularly changed. It has about 165,000kms on the odometer. Everything works like it should.
I am only considering selling this, because my future plans are unclear at the moment. I am asking 2.0 million krw.
The tags, title, and insurance are registered in my name and can easily be transferred. I will not deliver the car, as I am quite busy. You must make your own arrangements to come to Apgujeong (Seoul). Feel free to respond or pm me if you have an interest. What's the gas millage like? Is gas inexpensive in Korea? If you get into an accident w/ only liability insurance who pays?  |

Good questions, Spliff!
Gas is expensive. It costs about 100,000krw to fill the tank. That usually lasts me for around a month give or take. I don't go out of Seoul too often.
Full coverage (liability and collision) was going to be around 775,000krw for a year. The insurance company determines liability, just like home. If it wasn't your fault and they determine the other driver to be at fault, then that driver's insurance covers damage to your car. If you cause damage to someone else's car, then your liabilty will pay for their damage and a good portion of any medical bills. Liability does NOT cover your car if you are at fault. |

| How long have you been driving in Korea? That has a definite impact on how much you pay for insurance here. When I bought my car the seller said that he was paying a little over 500,000 a year but turned out that was because he had been driving here for a while and I am paying almost 800,000 this year but it will go down next. The other question would be how much are you paying a year in taxes on that car? I wasn't told about the yearly tax bill on top of the actual price of the car and insurance when I bought my car. |

None of these things that you have mentioned are any different from the US. The rest of the world where ESL teachers in Korea come from; I don't know about that.
That is true that driving experience has an influence on your premiums.
As far as the yearly tax goes, that all depends on what you claim that you paid for the car when you change registration. The lower the car is valued at, the lower the yearly tax.
I am sure that most people pay a property tax to own a car in their home country, and it is no different here.
All questions that have been posted regarding owning a car in Korea are relevant. It is expensive to own a car anywhere I imagine. I refuse to ride the subway or buses these days unless I'm out for a drink. Cars rule!
Regardless, it is off the market. I'm keeping it for now . |
