Is there a place in Seoul where I can pick up a Lomography camera such as the Diana or Lomo LC? I found a place online, but the prices seem a bit ridiculous for such a cheap camera. Thanks in advance.

Lomos are overpriced because the lomographic society has created stranglehold on the price when they became the exclusive seller's of the camera. before they existed you could buy the camera for $5-15 bucks but now you have to pay over a $100. for a $3 camera. disgusting. the "society" would go around suing people who were selling the russian version (which is the same exact camera just with a different name) for a lot less.

Even on ebay you'll find them for a steep price. i know because i was looking to get a LCA myself. I'm glad I got my Holga though before it started becoming super trendy (now you see them for $40-50 bucks???).

I found one online for 50 or 60 bucks for the Diana + Edelweiss. Comparing it to the Lomo LC-A which is 100 bucks or more depending on the package you get, I think I'll go for the Diana.

I actually read about that "society" boosting prices and general shadiness. It is crap on the inflated prices for a plastic camera, but I'm kinda of stuck paying premium prices for this being trendy now. Oh well. That's how it works I guess.

As for getting the film developed, there are quite a few Kodak shops or camera shops where I live that do film processing. Might even be able to throw in of CD to upload too.

MrSq...I'm not too sure about processing costs. I mean Koreans (Asians in general) love photography - digital or film, so I figure the costs will be comparable to those back at home. Once I find out though, I will let you know.

I was reading up on home developing last night and a couple of those devloping drums would be all that is needed (and darkness)

Not sure how much fluid is here or how much the drums are but that would def save a bit on cost, either print them or get a negative scanner.

In fact Great Wall Plastics are the manafacturer of all of the above cameras

if you are looking at shooting in black and white, you can develop your negs at home. its very easy. i process all of my black and white at home, and then scan the negatives with my scanner.
