I just bought GTAIV from yongsan, loaded it up and tried to play it, but then it comes up with this message "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting (80028F10)
Anybody out there that can help me with what to do? |

Where was the PS3 bought?
Where was the TV bought? What kind of TV is it?
I'm sure if you enter that error code into Google you'll get all the answers. |

Yeah I found the answer like you said on google:
"I have exactly the same problem. I have a JP PS3 and am trying to play on a brand new Sharp HD flatscreen (both game and TV were bought in Singapore). I'm using the cables that came with the PS3, and from what I can gather on the web, this is the problem. Apparently, if I buy a HDMI cable and use that, the game should work. The cable that comes with the PS3 doesn't support HDMI, and HDMI is the only standard that doesn't care about PAL or NTSC. Because I just use the normal cable, it's not HD which is why it's not working. Off to the store for a HDMI cable tomorrow (was on my list anyway as it should make the graphics prettier anyway). Hope this helps." |

And also further to this, where do you recommend to go apart from yongsan for games and consoles? That bunch up there couldn't sell their way out of a paper bag. They dont care about their products, they have no ambition and initiative. Is there a PS3 store in Korea? |

I've got an extra HDMI cable I'll sell you for 10,000 won.
I paid a little more than that.
If you are anywhere near Hyewha in Seoul, let me know.
PM sent. |

I have the north american ps3 (although purchased in Japan) and haven't had any problems in regards to games because of the hardware that came shipped with the unit.
Are you telling me that sony released the brand new top of the line ps3 unit WITHOUT the hardware to play games in HDMI format? You forked out up to 400$ US and then had to go and by a cable adapter? Seems pretty chincy to me. |

Of course the PS3 can output through HDMI.
The problem is when you are playing games on an SDTV. I imagine that the game your purchased was the UK version and is thus PAL. PAL resolution is 576i and will not display on an NTSC TV with a native resolution on 480i.
If you play the game on an HDTV then it will output at the HD resolution (720/1080i/1080p) and the native PAL resolution is irrelevant. |
