I've been having a bit of a think, and it dawned on me for the first time that France is a manifestation of perfection. And why's that? Well, let's investigate....
(1) France achieves 79% of its electricity production via nuclear power
(2) Because of (1) largely, France produces 83% of the C02 emissions of South Korea and with a larger population (60m in France v 50m in Korea) and 63% of the C02 emissions of the UK with a similar population.
(3) The French are militant secularists. They banned conspicuous religious symbols in schools. Good on them, eh? We in the West owe our freedoms, rights and privileges in no small part to the French Revolution (which saw the total dechristianization of a nation). Contrast this to the US, where 76.5% of the population subscribe to celestial despotism and seek to have these mean, base and totally vulgar ideas taught as science!
(4) France has an obesity rate of 9.4% (compared to 30.6% in the US, 23% in the UK and 21.7% in Australia)
(5) The French have an old, aesthetically outstanding culture based on sensible alcohol consumption, wine production, world-renowned cuisine, arts, literature and science.
(6) The French are renowned for being sexy. The same can scarcely be said of one or two English-speaking francophobic countries that spring to mind. |

France does totally rule. The only country I can think of that does better on much of your criteria is Japan. |

I should have been more clear: the 76.5% of Americans as Christians seems right. But the 76.5% of Americans as Christians who think Christianity should be taught as science is unbelievable. |

I am in general agreement with the theme of your post. I quite like French folks when chatting or interacting with them. They do have some rather funny economic ideas as a collective.
I had a quick conversation with 4 French girls tonight and they were all classy, pretty and thin. But, it seems that France is struggling with a weight problem.

I'm obese, but I'm drinking more water lately.
But I'm not French.
And, yes. French women are hot. |

I totally agree with the OP.
I've always thought the French have everything pretty sussed. They have a cool set of life priorities. Wine, women and song. With great food and a healthy disrespect of authority and working hard. We can all learn from the French.
My ex-boss's sister married a Frenchman. After living in Lyon for a couple of years they tried living in Korea for awhile. He managed to get a good job in Gangnam too....................... After 6 months they were pulling their hair out to get back to France. Why? Reason too numerous to mention but it basically boiled down down to terrible quality of life compared to France. |
