I am in Gwangju. I was told I could not get a raise until I had 2 years in public schools. When 2 years came I had a letter from another school for 2 months employment. I had a second Korean public school form for 1 year and 21 days. (I started 13 april but signed another contract on 3 MAY)
They are telling me they wont pay me for the 27 days time in service (about200,000 WON) because the other public school didn't have me registered number even though I had my visa.? They also won't count the visa run even though I was under their contract.
Whew, I don'et know what to do. They people have already cheated me out of 1,800,000 WON for winter camp and now are saying that my last pay will have an apartment maintenance fee. I have been here a year and only paid electric, gas and phone.
Can anybody give me help or tell me where to go? ( I already have a case for arbitration but don''t want to use if I don't have to)I am leaving in 3 days and doesn't give much time..
thanks

The local mafia are minimum wage creeps. I want money, the money I worked for. Please, if you cant be constructive utilizing some type of standards, don't reply again and don't scare away my responders..

OP--

I have a really hard time understanding what it is you're asking here. Are you wanting the 200,000 won that's owed to you? Are you worried about having to pay management expenses?

Could you please state the problem(s) more clearly and give some background information? How did you arrive at this state?

Ok, I will repost and let you re-state what I just said?? Man read the problem. How I got here is not the problem, and its not a state. I must either go to the arbitration system or loose a lot of money. I came to this school and took a 200,000 pay drop to get in to the university system. Not a 200,000/mo pay raise.. so from start 1 year ago I loose 4,400,000. they had me teach winter camp and didnt pay when it was over?/ They said it was't winter camp, just another day in my school. They are wrong.
Now they have been taking me DOWN. They are not skirting the law they are breaking the law, contract law perversely. If I don't step up they will do it to the next person who signs with them but I have already told them the way to beat them in the contract ( how stupid it was written) and the next person will really get burned...
I dont want to fight but these creeps want to go all the way and loose.
I will be leaving the country next contract, 3 days.. I will have to fly back to fight them but I am thinking it may be worth it.

Still not very clear..... Rolling Eyes

But it appears that you made a mistake taking this job the first place by taking pay drop.

And why are you just now bringing it up now about not getting paid for winter camp?

Did you try the labor board?

Yes, exactly. I wanted the public school to help with my background. I am old and wanted to keep clean but ran into the biggest and worst nightmare a contractor could have. I took way too much shit and tried to avoid trouble, but these people want a showdown.t I really don't but will win in court if I spend the time and misery.
I said after they cheated me out of winter camp that I would go no further, but now no choice They promised me a raise at contract signing but said later said they did not, and would not give it to me. My agent was there and backed out but I had enough proof to get the raise. ((really tough) I finally had enough proof to make them give it to me but now they want to go further to make up for it. I drew the line before they cheated the 26 days, no more... I will have to fly back from USA to both the local and seoul hearings (plus any missed hearings). It will be a transportation and work loss nightmare for them too. But for me that's the best I can hope for now unless someone can help? For this type of contract that is crazy... Really, attorneys cost more than I make for the contract ha ha.
Thats why!
