why would you use a comp just for this? why not something alot simpler and alot better looking....eg a media gate....i have mine running with a 1 tb hd, comes with remote, is sexy looking and has high def.
ive seen them for sale, mine was around 300,000 won, hdd seperate. Missus has no trouble using it, and file transfer is wireless. |

Did you mess around with the resolution? I mean the computers display resolution. My own laptop can go 1024x768 max. That's okay for movies, not so good for reading text. |

Actually, I'm in the market for a tb-level drive. When I started looking around, you do notice all of these multimedia units. Stuff like this:

I don't have an HDTV atm, and I primarily use music files.
Packaging and a remote seem to be the two big differences between them and just doing the same thing with a hard drive, but maybe I'm missing something.
I was just wondering what thoughts y'all had on them.
And Chris, do you have a link to the media gate product you're referring to? |
