| If you had responded the first time by saying You should be careful when out meeting Russian girls in Korea because a lot of them are prostitutes. I wouldnt have had a problem. Statistically I think thats accurate, although I have only met Russians who are here studying at University. Although, if I was South Africa and someone said Be careful with that guy, lots of racists come from South Africa. I think Id be a little pissed off, but again, statistically thats kind of true |
Yup. Most south Africans are racist , but maybe not in the ways you are implying given that most south africans are black. But then most americans , australian , new zealander , canadian and british people I've met are racist. Being hyper aware of politically correctness is a dead give away of inherent racist to any intelligent person. Besides the real difference being you generally slaughtered your local populations in waves of genecide before the turn of the century. We were just kinder and more compassionate than you.
You should be careful when meet Russian or Thai women in Korea. That's been my point all along. It was in response to your statement that it was a good idea to seek out a woman of this desacription , which I consider in fact to be a terrible idea. Is that a bit cynical ? Hell no.....that's exactly the right amount of cynicism.

I've been running into South Africans lately who think that, because Koreans stare at them around their town and on the subway, that they're ready to be the next Miss Universe. Rolling Eyes
Whatever. |
Oh we're just arrogant to start with. It's mostly to do with the fact that were superior to other groups of people. All that is left to debate is if it's due to nature or nurture. I say a bit of both , but I'm liberal. |
I've been to South Africa. You have nothing to be arrogant about. The country is a dump. It has beautiful scenery but thats about it. Power sharing...give me a break. Every house is like a little compound because of the rampant crime. The world cup is going to be a nightmare. |
Why always the insults ? I wss clearly joking , but I suppose you have a chip on your shoulder or something similiar which makes you a humorless jerk. I don't want to bore people with debating South Africa , so I'll just say this and urge people to stick to the topic .
You sound like a bitter White South African rather than a tourist , because I've never heard a tourist describe South Africa as a dump. I bet you were afforded the politest of welcomes you ungrateful tw@t. Why do I think you are a white south african ? Well ....all the moaning and hyperbole about crime that doesn't affect you (violent crime affects the black middle class or poor the gross majority of the time) and the wishful thinking of a crappy world cup that is obviously going to be succesful (like all other big internatioinal sports tournaments we've hosted) so that you can sit and celebrate the failures of the black government . At the same time talking about the electricity situation as if it's so bad having the cheapest electricity in the world because 1 hour a month you have to go without...IN AFRICA . Boo freaking hoo.
Well middle class south african certainly enjoy a far better quality of life and lifestyle than any other group of people allowed to teach english in Korea. Oh ....and...

Yeah , real dump .
(videos taken pretty much at random) |
Uhm...i'm an American genius. You obviously have been out of the country for awhile. I was just there in January. The airport in Jo-berg makes Gimpo look like a 5 star port. The power sharing is more like 3 hours a day....so be honest. The house I rented in Mpumalunga lost power from 4-7 in the afternoon for 3 straight days. In Jo-berg the mall lost power out of the blue while we were shopping. Then there is no street light working....what a nightmare.
Im pretty sure crime affects everybody. Don't try and spin your country. The blacks went on strike while i was there. They are bringing in Filipinos to build the stadiums. The cops are corrupt. I got busted for speeding and asked to grease the cops pocket and he would let me go....nice. I really enjoyed the squater camps along the highway. Brake down in South Africa and your pretty much screwed.
The scenery was nice. The weather was nice. I can't wait for the 2010 world cup...trust me...its going to be a thug dreamland in South Africa. Thats not coming from me. Its coming from the people i stayed with in Joberg. The locals know the government is full of retards. They couldn't govern a potato sack race. |
Seeing as you are an American genius you should know that Joburg represents south africa as much as detroit represents the states. With that said there are some fantastically beautiful suburbs in Joburg ,wealthy beyond compare to anything detroit has to offer. The load shedding was a brief 2-3 month temp. phenomena and there has never been an issue with electricity in south africa until that period. If you listen to any white south african you are going to get a grossly distorted and negative view of reality , because they want nothing more than for the black government to fail and are never happier than when something happens to affirmate this view . They also love to spread the hyperbole about crime ....if you broke down on the road the chances are that the very people you thought were interested in robbing you would do everything they could to help you .Stop demonising black people with your silly paranioa. Out of 6 million people about 3000 white south african have been murdered in this decade . A lot but hardly the genocide the whites will tell you is happening...violent crime happens to poor black people and we carry on our lives very normally and happily until some of us have a foriegn ear to moan into .
I'm not saying the country is perfect , but please don't portray this bbc view of africa where everyone is poor and the whole place is squallor. Poverty is very isolated in south africa and wealth and modern infrastructure is widespread . I don't feel the sum parts of what the states is defined by it's worst aspects .....
By the way i'm not nationalistic....my problem is far less about caring or not if you think my country is nice...it's with the idiots in my country and their racists agenda to portray it as if it's a hell hole when I know how fantastically well they live , the biggest stress in their lives being will they buy the mercedes or bmw , or eat steak or kebabs when watching the rugby next to the pool.
Anywa , If you want to insult the country go ahead and start a new thread....let's not bore people here at the expense of having a cheap shot at me . |

er...50% of South Africa is below poverty line according to the world fact book, and 21% of the population is HIV infected. oh it gets better!
Rape, including child rape, is increasing at shocking rates in South Africa. Sexual violence against children, including the raping of infants, has increased 400% over the past decade (Dempster, 2002). According to a report by BBC news, a female born in South Africa has a greater chance of being raped in her lifetime than learning how to read (Dempster, 2002). When South Africa became a democracy in 1994, there were already 18,801 cases of rape per year, but by 2001 there were 24,892 (Dempster, 2002). Numbers vary by different institutions, but are nevertheless extremely troubling. The Institute of Race Relations found that more than 52,000 rapes were reported in 2000, and 40% of the victims were under age 18 (du Venage, 2002). The University of South Africa reports that 1 million women and children are raped there each year (South Africa: Focus on the Virgin Myth, 2002).

-I'm not bashing south africa however, but there IS a reason people think it is a hellish place at times. |

Oh what bollocks . Don't even get me started on the H.I.v and rape hyperbole. Go give your money to the paharmceutical companies if you wish . Since 1990 I've been hearing about this 1 -4 people have aids...2 million new cases every year etc etc etc
You know how many people died of aids in south africa in 2005 (the latest statistics I have my hands on )?
14000 . (fourteen thousand)
Total freaking bollocks . The number should have been close to 2 000 000 (more cases each year , people dying on average 5 years after they get the disease) if the statistics were anything even close to the truth. The aren't . They test pregnant mothers in poor areas and then make assumptions about the entire population . Pregnant mothers notoriously produce false positives. You'd like with 1 in 5 south africans having aids I'd know 1 ...just 1 ...who has died from it or contracted it in 30 years . Or at least I'd know 1 person who'd died from "tb" or some disease , because that's what you're going to say "they pretend it's tb because aids is taboo" ...well tb deaths ? Only 40 000 ! Less than any previous years .
A woman has a greater chance of being raped that learnign to read ? What hilarious stupid total crap. Where do they come up with this junk ? Gross sensationlistic hyperbole with a poltical and financial agenda. Maybe in a small part of the most dysfunctional , poor , drug infested part of the most terrible stinking shanty town filled with ex prisoners , if they found an extremely unlucky target group of women could they find 2 women who were raped and 3 who couldn't read ....but I highly doubt it .
The child rape thing too...you can't explain aids on sexual promiscuity (because you idiots to have a slight chance of getting sexually aidsrequires more than 2000 sexual exposures to someone with aids ) they started to look for other bizare reason...suddenly we find the media full of stories making as if men were running around raping children.....what total crap.....that's a freakish isolated thing just as it is anywhere else .
christ..is south africa was anything like the way you just described do you think I or any of my friends and family want to live there ? All have travelled and are wealthy and could leave if they wanted to and none are interested in leaving. You make it sound like a freaking hellhole !
As far as poverty goes , there is still plenty at about 40%. Although remember that of that 40% ...20% still live their traditional lifestyles...herding cattle and subsistance farming in their mud huts. The rural areas where such people live may be devoid of western standards of wealth , but they live their lives in the way they wish , and it's not fair to compare them to europe in that sense . So we're talking about 20% of people who are very poor living in squallor on the outskirts of cities etc. A problem yes of course but rapidly changing...south africa has the 4th most new millionaires in the world each year and the 23rd biggest economy ....the majority of people live a good quality of life , and that's not something the media is telling you .
I really didn't want to continue this and hijack the thread , but I can't let such sensationalistic bollocks pass. I can only blame white south africans for it , because they are the ones who love to paint this gory picture and spread these bullsh!t stats to try and win some "see , we did a better job during apartheid" points. Pathetic . I request you start a new thread if you want to debate this , as not to hijack this one anymore that it already has been . |

| Heh if the country has the 4th most new millionaires, unless the GDP is growing quite rapidly then that would show that the income disparity is growing between the rich and poor, which could and probably does lead to an increase in poverty. |

Economy growing at 7% in real terms. Actually the greatest change in south africa has been the rapid emergnce of an large educated black middle class. The negative stuff frankly is ridiculous. |

Or any woman in general for that matter. It's not that woman have more issues than men, they just feel more entitled to bother everyone else's peace with theirs more often. |

Yes and why does having an argument with her friend entitle her to shout at me? It wasn't my fault!
Why do Women have such huge bust ups anyway? Oh she borrowed your favourite top (that you have not worn for two years!!!) and did not obtain explicit permission with a form signed in triplicate with an apostille stamp.
I mean for two guys to fall out something MAJOR has to happen like sleeping with his girlfriend, or raping him. |

Well im glad I posted this question... I learned about russian prostitutes, Korean Princesses, Nepali gold diggers, ugly travel chicks, very ugly scottish girls, and South African World Cup preparation. I am thoroughly satisfied. I guess I will just have to wait and see if I can get any ass regardless of race or creed. Wish me luck!
With that in mind, girls in Korea (of any nationality) if you want a sensitive guy not at all interested in just getting ass, pm me Jk... sorta |
I was a sensitive guy until I moved to Korea. I discovered unlike in america where being sensitive got you action only in emergencies(ala Chris Rock Break Glass) being sensitive in Korea gets you nothing. |
I can't be the only one who thinks guys who call themselves sensitive really mean to say "I have no game, dress bad, and never go hit on women".
I've known guys who are sensitive and dated tons of women...they got them the same way un-sensitive guys got them. |
