Where can I rent a car in Seoul (preferrably Anyang) with a Korean driver's license?
We already checked out two places in Pyeongchon and were told no. The first said we needed to have a Korean license for more than a year to rent a car, and AVIS said we needed an international license.
Anyone know of any sure fire places to get a car that don't have many loops to jump through for foreigners?
Thanks in advance. |

My advice would be to have a Korean call for you. |

I just rented a car from this place in Kangnam Station. I don't have a Korean driver's license yet, but have my international driver's permit. They just wanted my gf to be my "cosigner." I am sure that with your Korean driver's license you should have no problems. The place is called "Hi-rental Car" or 하이 랜트카. The number is 02-3453-8428. This place is actually a chain, so you might be able to find a rental location closer to where you live. The price was 60,000won which isn't too bad considering they gave us a SM7. |

Nope, we tried. They said we needed an international license, or we need to have had our Korean license for more than a year in order to rent a car. I knew there was a catch somewhere
How can we get our international license? Are there any places around that don't have this requirement?
Maybe some cheap, dirty car rental shop with cars that aren't anything special... all the places we've tried are huge chains. |
