Can anyone recommend a place in Daejeon to stay? I'd like to go this Saturday if possible. I'm sure places will be busy but I'm going to try my luck. Thanks in advance.

Where do you want to go?

There are no remarkable hotels in Daejeon.. but motels are usually quite nice.

The area where people normally go to is Yuseong.. the *spa* area.

You will find a vast choice of motels there.. and they won't be full.

I stayed at the Rodeo Motel in Dunsan-dong. Dunsan seemed to be where all the bars/restaurants/nightlife were. I walked around Dunsan for a long timem and the Rodeo was the only motel I could find. It's 40,000 a night, and not far from the Galleria Time World back entrance/McDonalds. Standard love motel rooms.

That's because, like I've said, everything is mostly in Yuseong, which isn't far from Dunsan and there is subway that takes you from Yuseong to Dunsan.

If you get off at the city hall subway stop, then walk to Krispy Kreme (you can see it from any exit street level), there is a motel called KK motel. It is 35,000/night, or 40,000/night for a room with internet connection. It is a really nice motel, on a quiet side street. The Krispy Kreme is behind the office building being built. Can't miss it.

How to get to the KK Motel: Go to the Krispy Kreme. walk past it on the right, up the street, towards Stargate shopping center. take your first left (it is a side pedestrian street, lots of coffee shops). follow the pedestrian street a block and a half, past the mini mart, and you will see the KK motel on the left. It is on the 3rd floor of the building, so you have to take an elevator up.

Will it be OK to walk in a get a room? It seems like a busy weekend. Thx everybody for your help.

I don't require a *nice* place, just reasonably clean and quiet. Is there nightlife close to Yuseong? By close I mean within 4 or 5 km.

Will my 1st grade level Korean be a problem? Can I get by with gestures and grunting, as is my strategy in Seoul? Is there any kind of interactive public transit map of Daejeon? Thanks for the help.
