Say, I'm coming back to Korea, and wanna plan something fun.
I've noticed that whenever a homebrew thread starts on here, it goes pretty long in terms of pages; that says to me that there's a very underground brew scene in Korea.
How about a brewfest? If I can line up ten people who can make enough of their own to share, that could be a pretty kick ass event. |

Just bought my first kit last week. I have a Blue Mountain Lager just finishing up fermentation....will bottle it tomorrow or Saturday.
Just my first batch, so i went the 'kit' route to see how things go. Also bought 'The Joy of Home Brewing'. It seems like a great resource...
Hopefully this first batch turns out, and then I can order some ingredients and get a real homemade batch brewing.
This sounds like a good idea to me....Count me in!!!! |

I worked at a homebrew shop in Newfoundland for 4 years before I arrived here. I would definitely like to get back into it here, but I can't read the korean on that site at all. Is there a place you can go to purchase this stuff in person rather than online? Also, I could go for an all-grain setup if anyone is interested. Cheaper (after start-up costs), and a hell of a lot better. Little bit more work though |

Alright guys, nice to see people interested.
This would be something to happen around august or september. I'm thinking we'd rent out a space/bar, or talk to a bar owner to co host it, then I'd leave it up to you guys to be able to serve up to at least 10 people 2 glasses of beer. If we get 10 people brewing AT LEAST 2 or 3 servings, that should be gravy. |

I'm still up for it. Would need a solid month and a half warning....
I have been brewing pretty much every weekend for the past 2 months!!! I bought 4 kegs (2 in the fridge and 2 to age) to try and get ahead of myself, but it just hasn't been possible. It's disappearing too fast!!! So today I went and bought a whole whack of ingredients and a second fermenter.
In a month or so I hope I will always have 2 extra kegs of beer in their prime ready to be tapped!!!!
As for the beerfest....I'm definitely up for it!!! I'd say fall is a good time. Let the weather cool down a bit for some better brewing and give people some time to brew. |

While riding through Gyeongju today, I saw a sign out in front of one of those fancy hotels (Hilton, Commodore...sorry, I can't remember which) advertising a beer fest. Does anyone know the when, where, and/or any other info? Thanks! |

Alright alright. I've been having a tough time at work, which is why I've been quiet on Brewfest, but, yes, I'm still interested in organizing and throwing it. I'd like to meet with everyone at least once, so, new thread incoming. |
