Some public school contracts have housing deposit stipulation where you are require to pay 300K per month for first 3 months.

For those of you who have received housing deposit refund, when did you get it? Did you get it when you were still in Korea or after you left the country?

FOr some reason, my school paid me back in the first month of the 2nd year! It was a pleasant surprise, though they probably think it is only for those with school housing, and I have my own accomodation this year.

I got my housing deposit back (deposted into my bank account on my final day after they had checked the apartment) ... I think that GEPIK policy is something along those lines ... I can't remember if it was the contract or the guide book that mentioned that timing ... I am not working in a public school now so I can't check ... But because it is possible to get the bills up to the final day there is no reason to wait any length of time if there is no damage etc to the flat

I'm worried about this. How long do most people have to wait for the money?

Anyone I have ever talked to and who was working for GEPIK got it in the last day of work along with their final pay and severance.

Some schools are now delaying airfare reimbursement for up to 2 weeks AFTER your departure to make sure you actually left Korea (as required by the contract).

They do send it to your offshore account if you request it (otherwise it gets sent to your Korean account). If there are problems, send a note to Dain or Wenise and they will ensure that your airfare gets sent.

There was a problem with a school this spring and it was dealt with quickly.
