(Mods, this isn't really a Technology Forum topic, so I'm putting here in General)

Read it 'n' gasp!
No WONDER when I called the (strangely unfamiliar) phone number for EZ-Guide yesterday, the people answering had no idea who I was or who I was asking for.
Okay, so this may be ancient news to you regular Yongsan trippers, but God what a surprise it was to me. I've been dealing with those guys on a personal-name basis for nearly 15 years and through five different corporate incarnations (2 theirs, 3 ours).

Yongsan, once a mecca for building personal computers, is losing ground. Ez Guide, located in Yongsan Electronics Market, went out of business on Feb. 25 after its president, Lee Sung-kwang, disappeared, leaving behind losses estimated around 6 billion won ($6.2 million). Some customers did not receive prepaid products.
Lee, the president of Ez Guide, sold all the company's products and even its official Web site to another operator before escaping overseas. |
A real fixture of Yongsan they were, and my, did they go out in fine fashion. Absconded overseas with the customers' & company's loot?? Damn, that's charmingly Old Skool.
Bye-bye, Mr. Lee~~! You baggy-pantsed comedian, you!
So... I guess this ends my buddy-discount, huh? |
