Looks like the proverbial fat lady is about to sing. So to keep the dems in some form of unity, how about a Obama/Clinton ticket against the Dark Side Reps.

From the recent wins and population breakdown, superdelegates it may be feasible.

Also I heard on CNN that 50% of Clintons voters in the primary would switch to the Republicans if she lost the nomination. Additionally, 38% of the Obama voters would switch to the Reps if Clinton won the nomination.

Seems like a combo of the two is a winner!! Question

It'll never happen. Clinton in particular is ruining Obama. There will be some resentment should Obama get the nomination, and a fairly weird presidency if were elected together.

She would have had to stepped down much earlier and supported him for that to happen.

I agree with TB, it's unlikely to happen and most of the people talking about a unity ticket are Clinton supporters. It's more likely that you might see someone who is a strong Clinton supporter as a VP nominee (like Bayh or Clark).

I definitely do not think Obama would choose Clinton. Obama is a great man and will be a good leader. However, he lacks experience. He needs to pick someone that will make his job much easier, especially with foreign policy. My vote is that Obama would pick Bill Richardson to be his second in command.

Wesley Clark would be a great VP. I've been hoping for him on the underticket for the last eight years.

I doubt Clinton would accept the position. And I don't know if Obama would be the same president with Hillary as VP. I'm hoping he runs the country as a liberal, rather than swimming right of center like Bill.

It will be interesting to see who gets the nod for certain cabinet positions. I expect cabinet members to be an issue if Obama and McCain go head to head. If McCain keeps too many Bush people on staff he's sunk. Obama has the opportunity to pitch himself as the coach of a Dem dream team. Possibly including Edwards (AG?), Biden (SecState), Clark, if not VP, (SecDef). If Clinton is going to get a job it might be HHS director, that way she can do healthcare her way.

The real question is whether or not they would take the jobs. Some of these people will choose to stay in the Senate.

Wes Clark is a STRONG Clinton supporter.

On the plus side of that, a combined Obama/Clark might just be the ticket to unifying the party (whenever Clinton does concede).

The only drawback with Clark is that he wouldn't be able to run 8 years from now. It would be nice to have someone who could run to succeed him if they won.

That often doesn't work out well. We should have fresh blood every eight years.

Clark would shore up Obama on defense. That's a plus.

I would be amazed if Richards didn't have some position of importance.

I'd vote for Obama, but not if Clinton was on the ticket. She's graced us with her incompetence already.

I'm not a gung-ho Democrat to begin with, but Obama seems to be less evil than the other options.
