Anyone know if I can get St. Johns Wart over the counter here? What do I have to say to get it? Any help appreciated. |

I haven't seen it over here. It would be pricey. By the way, I read of some study that it can adversely affect males. You may be using it for stress. If so, try something like B-complex, SAM-e, exercise and the like. Or, check on e-bay and order it that way. E-bay has everything, and if you have paypal or know anyone who has it, they can get you somethin' |

I get any herbs or pharmiciticals i need via the interent. its only a bit more expensive and less embaressing then trying to act out what ever you're ailment is. shipping from the UK takes about a week so if you want to use a company from wherever your from it should be about the same. just search online. |

I saw a news segment once stating that St. Johns Wort actually doesn't really help depression, but simply has a placebo effect.
If anything, it's just a good herb to get a little boost, like ginseng or gingko. But I think it's highly overrated and hyped up by supplement companies for the almighty dollar. |

If you can't find it, try searching for hypericum. That's the old name, or the name they use in Europe for the same drug. I'm not sure which it would be called here if they have it.
If you find some post back here, I wouldn't mind some myself. |

It is banned in Korea. Koreans mixed it with stuff you aren't supposed to and they had problems with it. Now you can't get it here. This is what they told me at the health supplement store. |

Yeah, I tried it out for a three week period once as I was feeling a bit down and anxious, and heard it might help. I read that it can make you more sensitive to stimulants such as caffeine and hyper-sensitive to the sun.
I thought it's natural and all (or close enough to), why not give it a shot. Whoa! That three weeks was an interesting time to say the least. I made the mistake of having a cup of coffee once, and was on a caffeine high for the rest of the day, going outside was painful because of the sun's glare. Had all manner of other pleasant side-affects, all in all it was a pretty psychedelic experience.
St. John's Wort's didn't seem to agree with me. |
