I am amazed that the price of software has continued to be the same through the years. 15 years ago I paid $50 or more for a game and today...I pay $50 dollars or more for a game. Price fixing has been the norm for as long as I can remember.
They could make it impossible to pirate software but they don't. I think they want people to be able to steal the software. There is a reason why microsoft doesn't simply close the door. How hard do you think it could be?

What baffles me is people who steal thousands of dollars in software, music, and movies, but then complain when their hogwan doesn't pay them. I thought stealing was okay?

Microsoft tries hard to prevent piracy spending billions on counter measures only to watch hackers and the DOJ find ways to counter them. Raising the price for software is just an excuse for "research and development".

So rather than try to develop some software dongle they'll use the internet to penetrate our systems and upload user behaviour information instead (and probably some other things). I know iTunes was doing it and there are probably many others. Knowing what the customers do and want with their software would give them exactly the edge for their next one.

File sharing ≠ contracting with someone to pay an agreed-upon rate for services to be rendered, then failing to pay after the services have been rendered.

They're nothing alike, twit.
