G'day all.
Getting into the holiday spirit slowly but surely.
I'd love to have some 'nog.
Anyone know where it can be found?
I'm guessing the best bets would be Lotte-style grocery stores, but I haven't been yet.
Thanks.
And, Merry X-mas! |

Egg Nog Recipe
I honestly don't know where you'd find premade egg nog in a carton, but it's fairly easy to make from scratch.
Of course, finding nutmeg might be it's own adventure, but hey, at least you can find spiced rum to go with it easy enough! |

Hi,
I was at the Red door in Itaewon yesterday, the lady had some in her refrigerator. Let us know if you need directions, I say 'us" as I've only been there a couple of times myself.
Hope this helps,

Not even. Eggnog is it's own beast. I don't even think it could really be compared to anything else. You just kind of have to have experienced it. |

I bought nutmeg at Wal-mart. It's good for French toast too! (Or is it freedom toast now?) |

>. Thanks for the recipe link. I sent it to a number of friends & family
As it is, i'm planning on whipping up a big batch for fellow staff & students sometime over the next few weeks.
Thing is, there was no mention of CINNAMON !!!
Usually sprinkled on top, ya gotta have it.
Mmmmmmmmm .. eggnog |

My wife and I whipped up a batch of eggnog for some friends yesterday... loaded with cheap Wal-mart rum, of course. We served it out of a huge mixing bowl, which put me in mind of makgeolli. Mmmmm, makgeolli... |

Thanks for the info.
I'm not that familiar with Itaewon, but I can find my way around with a little guidance. Where is the Red Door? Sounds a bit dodgy. Near the Green Door? What's behind it? |

It's a little hole in the wall grey/black/whatever market shop, that sells stuff from teh base. Basically blink, and you'll miss it.
Do you know where the Burger King is?
*Ham Hotel*

other shops. ^^^^^^^ other shops
shops shops ^^^^^^ and so on.
shops shops ^^^^^^ keep walking down, this side of the street,
shops shops ^^^^^^ and eventually you will find it.
Does this help? |

i'm not too handy in the kitchen. on my first year in korea, i looked up an eggnog recipe on the internet, and ended up making the most god-awful beast imaginable. is eggnog supposed to be lumpy? funny... i don't recall that texture in the supermarket eggnog. if any of you can vouch for a recipe that you know to be good and easy, i'm going to have another crack at it. truth be told, i'm a little disheartened that, outside of the red door, no one has been able to find the stuff on supermarket shelves anywhere in seoul. i really would like a few glasses o' nog this holiday season. |
