For me one of the most interesting parts of the episode was how Ben woke up in Tunisia... It reminded me how Jack woke up in the very first episode... methinks something is up! |

Claire went back to the cabin with 'Jacob'. She will be sacrificed to the island. |

I'm loving Sawyer's new found protective/caring side.... makes him that much hotter.
And I'm glad that Jack confirmed that the others stayed by choice..... I was pretty certain that's what went down but now we know.
I wonder if it's the Sawyer/Kate thing that sends Jack on the Oxycotin/suicide route or if something else happens.
Either way, it was a good episode I thought. |

Yeah I was thinking that about Sawyer. I liked that he had this reserved affection for Karl. Kind of seeing his own teenage years. You kind of felt the loss of Karl via Sawyer. It was a great scene and communicated a lot with a minimum.
This was a pretty slow ep all around. Last week's ep with Ben had me getting up from the TV at every commercial break grumbling about the maddening cliff hangers they kept ending each scene on. This episode I was kind of like "meh". |

Mr. Eko's brother is the orderly when Locke is recovering from his accident? wasn't his corpse rotting in a plane in the jungle?
the pseudo military guys have really lost it
Richard has been trying to get Locke to the island since he was a baby and is potentially Lockes real biological father.
Claire & Father (Jack's Father) in Jacobs cabin speak for Jacob.
So much for answers - don't know what's going on now. |

That wasn't Mr. Eko's brother... it was the guy from the mental institute that visited Hurley and the guy from the warehouse meeting with Nadia I think.
And with the doctor being killed in this episode, but then the helicopter seemingly coming to the island very shortly after it left the boat, I'm so confused about time on the island. |

Looks like some hints of time loops. Horace cut down the tree and then it appeared again as he repeated his lines.
Richard Alpert gave John a reincarnation test.
Possible that many of the characters are of an ancient civilization in a time loop?
Also, both Ben and John's mothers were named Emily.
Both of their births were tied to car accidents...
Brothers?
And who was driving the car that hit their mother? |

There were some way creepy moments in that ep. The hostile showing up in the 1950s. The weird black guy who appeared to Hugo also being an orderly for Locke. The doctor being alive even though he was found dead.
Ben was looking a lot more vulnerable. Not quite the guy you normally were championing to be shot in the head. You almost felt sorry for him.
I kind of didn't like the ending tho. Move the island. Geez. And really why didn't the smoke monster kill more people? |

Yeah, but there has to be a reason why the dream was looped.
That's where they'll move the island... to another time. |

it's a dream. it doesnt have to make sense.
it's not an uncommon element for ghosts in movies and tv to be on some kind of loop, playing a short segment of their lives over and over. its a common motif
besides, what's going on with time isnt some kind of loop. it's a lag. time is moving at different speeds at the freighter and on the island. there must be some kind of black hole nearby, rendering time meaningless, because sometimes the island is moving faster in time (the doc washing up on shore of the island before he is shot on the freighter), and sometimes the freighter is moving faster in time (the helicopter with desmond and sayid was taking way too long to get to the freigher, from the islander's perspective)

I used to think there was a linear time flow on the island. Now, I doubt it. |
