What is around there?
Is there a large ex-pat community?
Is there good night life?
How far away away am I from Itawon?
Is this where the Costco is?
Is ti expensive?
thanks for the help |

I've never heard of the place, maybe mentioning which station it is near would help? |

This is what there website says. It seems like a nice area?! Anyone know of it
The school is located in Chongno Gu, (a.k.a Jongro-Ku) the central business district of Seoul, since it's founding as the capital of the Joseon Dynasty. |

Shinnae-dong [신내동] is in Jungnang-gu [중랑구] (also "Jungrang-gu" and other weird spellings), on the very edge of Northeastern Seoul. Take three small paces to the east and you've left civilisation entirely and entered the dark, untamed wilds of lawless Gyeonggi-do. So stick close by Line 6. A hard-drinking blue-collar area, slum housing is the order of the day in Shinnae-dong, and the people there wouldn't have it any other way.

Huh? Is this the same job you mentioned in your OP? Because Jongno-gu is two districts to the West of Shinnae-dong/Jungnang-gu. And that description, "the central business district of Seoul", is exaggerated and outdated.

I don't know... I'm confused. I think I am going to stick with my original job that I wanted where I'll be living in Itawon. |

Do you mean Sinnae-dong, Jungnang-gu?
I live about half a mile from there. Not many foreigners. No night life. It's a standard neighborhood.
About 30 mins on subway to Itaewon from Bongwhasan Station.
There is a good Homeplus in Sinnae-dong. And Sangbong Costco is only a 5 minute taxi ride away.
It's an inexpensive family-orientated place. |

In the job post it said Shinae-dong on Line 6, Seoul. The recruiting guy might of mispelled but I cut and pasted right from the job post.
Then I just got the contract and I look it up and it said another area.
So I have no idea, I just sent an e-mail to the recruiter...
I keep telling myself patience is a virtue. One virtue I know I must have if I want to get by in S. Korea.
I realize now why so many ex-pats drink. I am going out for one now!! |
