Ok,
So everytime I wash my clothes they come out covered in bloody lint. I've cleaned the lint filter (or whatever you call it) thoroughly but it still happens. I have to brush the shit out of my clothes after every wash.
Why?????? |

You've got blood all over your clothes and you are worried about lint? You need to check your priorities. |

Yeah, it took me a couple of weeks to realise. Get yourself a lint roller and keep emptying the little bags (assuming your washing machines has some) inside the machine. |

there actually could be a problem w/the machine
try running it through a cycle w/o clothes just to wash it out first
check the water from time to time, especially what's draining, if possible
always wash towels separately, they have a lot of lint on them
if it still seems excessive after these things, I'd complain to your handler the machine needs to be checked, it might not be draining properly or could have something backed up in there |

I don't think my machine ever had a lint filter. Usually your dryer is the thing that delints your clothes. But if you're just hang drying then you're in lint hell. |

Separate light and dark so at least the lint will be the same color.
edit--mindmetoo is right. you'll only have a lint filter on a dryer. if you're hang-drying them, you've got to use one of those sticky roller thingies. |

yes, K washers have lint traps - as do American ones -
they are attached inside the drum, a little net maybe 2 inches across, 3 down, a little plastic frame that slides in and out of its holder to catch lint.
wait until its dry and it will be easier to remove; if this hasn't been changed in a while it could be your problem.
if it's missing that could also be the problem. probably have to get one specific for that make and model of the machine. |

You can buy a little lint ball to put in with your laundry and it will catch lint as your clothes are being washed. |

tis problematic because all my new clothes look like crap after I wash them. Ah well...just hand wash the delicate stuff and get a lint roller |

Certain thing shouldn't be washed with others. Don't wash light-colored towels with blacks, for example. Basically, if something looks like it will make a lot of lint, then don't wash it with other clothes that will easily attract lint.
I believe this is your problem, provided that the lint trap/net has been cleaned. |

Cheers guys.
I guess I need to clean the filter again and do a wash without clothes. Then I need to be more considerate in what things I wash together.
The lint ball catcher thingy sounds good. Where might I find one? |

Well, you might even find them at medium-sized grocery stores.
I never wash towels with shirts or dark pants. I usually wash my towels with jeans -- that's a good combination (provided it's not a new towel that will bleed out). If I do, I get lint all over heck.
I don't wash white socks with dark clothes or even shirts -- I just wash all of the whites together.
You're asking for lint troubles if you do either of the above. |

Trust me, it's always the dryer that catches most of the lint. Ever notice your dryer's lint filter after each load? If your washing machine isn't catching that before you throw your clothes in the dryer, don't expect your Korean washer to do double duty. End of the day, without a dryer you're always going to have a big lint problem. The lint ball idea sounds interesting but I'm skeptical. You'll just have to pretty much suck this one up and write it off. |

A related question: I have a Samsung Hauzen washer-dryer. I can't see a lint filter anywhere inside or outside the machine, but there must be one somewhere, surely?
Does anyone know? I have a manual, but it's in Korean only. |
