anyone ever done any walking trips around korea?

i want to get away from things for a while...the idea of walking down to pusan seems quite tempting. just wondering how practical it would be.

every ajjoshi and his mum likes walking up hills at the weekend and i see bundles of them trekking the subways...but is long distance walking popular here?

ive never done it before...and im a fatty mcfatfat so thats an issue.

any walkers on the forum? should i just grab a bag and some boots and set off on the road?

some of our hockey players are going to start training in korean emarts. supposed to be ful of a lot of hard hitting activity. Im sure you could lose a few pounds (just try not to lose an eye or break some bones.

I've done it. You'd be surpised how much there i to see out in the country. this is an old country. every few miles there's an historical thing to see.

It's fairly common for college kids to walk from Busan to Seoul and make a summer of it. I knew a few that did it.

I have biked all over Korea. There are buses everywhere in the country and it is very safe for camping out at night with or without a tent. You will also find that the further away from Seoul you get the nicer the people are. Get a back pack and just start walking...you will be fine.

Just take a bus out to a small town, pretty much any town, jump out at some random ri (villag) and start walking. Bring a camera.

Maybe open a Hagwon in Korea specializing in teaching people how to walk properly???

For example,

Teaching teenagers and women to walk in a straight line without focusing on your handheld television, especially when transferring subways, while walking on the escalator during rush hour at Sindorim?

Teach people to walk in a straight line and not into the oncoming person on the other side of the sidewalk. They don't have anything to offer to you, there is no connection between them and you, so don't walk into them, especially when there is about 15 feet of space to walk on on the sidewalk altogether...

Teach people that running frantically to the subway and stopping and blocking everyone behind you from entering the subway right at the door of the train is not a good idea, regardless of whether or not you are on the right subway platform. It's not anyone elses fault that you weren't paying attention to where you were supposed to go, because you were busy texting your best friend or (see above) watching your favorite drama on your handheld television during rush hour.

Or how about not walking across the street in the opposite direction of the arrow while pushing through the crowd of 50 people walking the right way?

Or, when you see a Wagook about to enter a cab, don't run up and push his hand off the handle of the door and tell him that this is your country and then jump into the cab like a fucking *beep* who needs a pounding. I almost kicked some Rain wannabe in the shin the other night for pulling this stunt.
