I apologize if this has been already stated by someone, but I couldn't find it when doing a search. I know teachers need to arrive in Korea sometime in August.

When do EPIK public school teachers need to be in Korea for orientation? I don't know yet as it's too early to be told anything despite having applied early, but want to get a good rate on airfare and spend the money before I spend it. I know getting a job in Korea is usually a last minute process as is a great deal was at my old hagwon last year.

The airfares are only increasing by the day as gas is on a steady climb and I know I am going regardless of what's going on as I need and want this job they are offering without going broke. I wish it was sooner as being home is no fun with my reletives problematic and annoying health and financial situations throwed in my face and what it is costing me. Time for me to go back to work over there as I was going to go in March, but the recruiter was telling me last December through February that I had to be home to set up a job which now is no longer the case after March 15th came around. I might go sooner if I can get the job assignment sooner than August I as there are public school openings here and there outside of the school year calendar.

There are lots of jobs avaiable here now ... in public schools ... I know that because recently when I was looking for a hagwon job I was offered a lot of different public school jobs ... So you might want to consider trying to get a job sooner ... and seeing what comes up for you ... Failing that I would expect that EPIK could tell you now when the Orientation would be ... which would allow you to plan ahead as you want ...

Thank you. I am on it and will just go with the flow and they will tell me when to go so I will have to pretend I don't have this airfare money.
