Who actually does these? I used to until my class number went up to 10 and 9....even though now they are down to 8 and 9. But I never use lesson plans and I am very well liked at my school and my boss wants me to work two years. I always see posters on here asking each other what are your lesson plans like and such? In my seven months here, I have learned that my job is to keep the kids happy and interested in class and make the adults feel comfortable for open conversation...oh yeah, also look busy in the class as parents watch. Sometimes, I feel like more of an entertainer and showman than a teacher.

I am required to submit lesson plans weekly (all are due at the months end and are reviewed and signed-this standard applies to ALL the teachers).In the US, my school required detailed lessons plans on a weekly basis.

For school here, I am not required to write in extensive detail. But, if you read the lesson plan, you would know exactly what lesson I was teaching, what the objective was for the class, and what activities/worksheets would be used.

Lesson plans don't need to be extremely detailed.

I also work with weekly lesson plans, but i do try not to keep it to stringent and certainly do not mind going outside of the plan to accommodate specific demands of the students.

The lesson plan is there to help you be flexible to the demands of the students.

I use lesson plans. Not detailed, but as the other poster said, you know what's being taught that day.

Indeedy...I'm at a public elementary school and I'm not required to submit any lesson plans (except camps) but I keep track for my own records. It helps me know where the students are at.

My Korean teachers control where the students are at. My job is to just make the students happy while quizing them occasionally and occassional homework so they will say good things about me to the parents.

I teach in a high school and dont do lesson plans. I make up all the lessons, and my Korean teachers have little to do in class. I just have them in my head. I let the variation on my memory provide the variation between lessons that helps me learn which bits work best.

I am like the guy from Memento and tattoo all my lesson plans over my body.

I find that is the easiest way to not forget them.

I plan my lessons and make an actual plan but I have to be very flexible and have a backup plan. However, since I have been photocopying all of my material that can become difficult.
