I was told today that SMOE has a max age of 45. Is this true? What about EPIK, etc?

Who told you that? A recruiter?

I don't know if it's true or not. SMOE seems to be very open about hiring people that hogwans don't want: Kyopos, blacks and the Irish.

I was already older than 45 when I got my first contract with a public school in Busan. Still at the same school too.

Epik sets its age limit at 55. However, I have heard that the age limit can be waived in some rural towns or very small cities.

That made me laugh out loud. "You're not welcome in here sonny jim. Read the sign: NO KYOPOS, BLACKS OR IRISH."

It's kind of funny, but to kyopos, blacks and non-North Americans who have been turned down from hogwan jobs, it sucks.

Well, I'm Irish but I haven't been refused a job yet. It made me laugh cos it reminded of the signs they used to put up in England saying "No blacks, dogs or Irish".

tell her she's full of sh*t and to put it where the sun don't shine Twisted Evil

one of SMOE's recruiting mantras is the lack of discrimination at a public school regarding age, gender, disability (tho I've yet to hear or see any teachers hired that are disabled).

try another recruiter and after you get hired, report her to SMOE. Twisted Evil

I believe most students have to graduate by the time they are 18.

Shocked It gets better. Received another e-mail from another person (same agency), and they said I have been scheduled for an interview this coming Monday. Also stated that Korean time would be 2 p.m. This means it would be 2 a.m. my time. Next, it went on to say that the time would be 10:00 PST (would be 0800 CST).

If they call, fine; if not, tu-tu.

Moosehead: Would like to do as you suggest, but we are limited to one recruiter for SMOE.

Anyway, I have other provinces I'm looking at.
