Didn't think possible but my school extended my work permit an extra 8 days with ease.
Director walked into immi with signed form, passport, ARC, airline ticket out of korea and it was done....i didn't even have to go.
Guess advantages living in medium sized city where immi isn't as overworked or crusty from dealing with too many farang.
Anyway, give it a try if only need a few extra days.

If it required an airline ticket, then your work permit has NOT been extended.
The temporary extension of stay, available for free by presenting an outward air or sea ticket, does NOT permit the holder to work.
In order to extend your E-2 status of sojourn, the required documents include an employment contract for the period in question, the school's registration certificate, and your CRC if you have not provided one previously. This extension also costs 30,000 won. The immigration office may, at their discretion, waive some of these requirements for a short term extension. But, strictly speaking, those are the requirements.
Once again: the extension based on your outward train or ship ticket does NOT extend your permission to work. Be aware that if this is the type of extension your boss obtained, you will be in violation of your status of sojourn if you work. Are you likely to get caught? No... but it's possible.

Hmm well don't know. They didn't touch my passport and wrote on the back of my alien card todays date, some Korean and ~08-05-30....meaning the card has been extended until May 30
So, what has been extended??
E-2 or temporary tourist stay???? |

If they wrote a new date on the back of your card it sounds like they have extended your E2 working visa and you're all set.
It's a good sign if Immigration is willing to make minor extensions of a few days without all the silly, newly required, extra documents. |
