I have heard rumors of immi raiding agents in the last few weeks and busting teachers from information gotten from said agents. Anyone hear of this or know anyone?

That's good news. Good to see Immy doing their job! Folk that procure employment here under false pretenses are scum and so are those Koreans that assist them.

I don't know how widespread it is, but it is happening. If immigration busts a recruiter organizing private (illegal) lessons, the recruiter might turn in all the names and number of the teachers who worked through him.

Reading this would have worried me a couple of days ago, but I just got my ARC, so I say give 'em hell immigration. Draw and quarter the swine.

Nobody gets busted for teaching privates in Korea. It is standard
practice for serious teachers making a career in this country.

Privates are illegal.

Not so fast, Cornfed. I know a person who got busted for work she did over a year ago.

I don't know anyone who's ever gotten busted for privates.

but then, privates are illegal and no one does them, really. they are just a fantasy discussed in cyberspace, right? Wink
