I'm 97% of my way there. I have everything set up, job, plane ticket, money. But Canada post has seemed to have "Misplaced" my passport with it's shiny new E2 visa in it. I wouldn't mind it so much but I used the most expensive postage both ways to avoid *beep*-ups such as this and thanks to a three day weekend I'll have to wait three days to even hear about it. Oddly enough on the Korean side of things, things have been extremely fast and effective; makes me want to leave Canada even faster.

If Canada had a face right now I'd punch it square in the fucking nose.

How does that have anything to do with Korea? No three day weekend here.

Every major interuption along this path had something to do with Canada. First Police check which took a week, then having a Medical Exam whose results I'm still waiting for, (Thankfully, I found out that it wasn't nesscessary), Then FedEX, who royally fucked up by sending my contract to the wrong continent, now this: my passport, lost in the anals of Canada post.

I swear to God Canada, I'll get my revenge.

Police Check is something Local, Medical is as well. I had to deal with Fedex from Canada, so everyone I was working with was Canadian and Canada Post is of course Canadian. But the entire struggle seems to be with things from my side of the pond. I had no trouble in getting "Korean" thigns done. Contract? Once they got it...4 days, the visa at the consulate took three, without an interview. Canada on the other hand: Police Check took a week, (not too bad, at least it was on time) the medical report got completely lost...., Fedex took over a fucking week to finally send everything to Korea after sending to to South America, and now almost on the eve of leaving, Canada Post says that they don't know where my passport is, and it's in an over-night enevolpe!

Fucking Canada!

huh...funny that.

I just had to get a crim rec. check. This one took 2 days. Last one, I found a detachment where I could get it done "while I wait" (took 20minutes).

As for C-post, I haven't had problems like you've had. I sent a METICULOUSLY wrapped clay jar that broke but that's
1) Partially my fault for thinking a fragile sticker would be enough for ANYONE to treat a piece of mail carefully
2) either/or/both kor-post can-post

Is Korea sparkling? If you are waiting for your e-2 stamped passport doesn't that mean the Korean consul mailed it?

Express Canada Post have a tracking thing online--I used it recently and it went smoothly.

I sympathize with one thing though---I'm waiting for something important and thought the May two-four was NEXT weekend..

Maybe blame Queen Victoria. Wink

Good luck though---I'm not trying to give you a hard time.

Yes, they sent it last Wednesday evening, I had it sent by Priority Courier. The last scan I have is in Quebec, Wesnesday night. Now, there has been a lot of bad weather where I live (fog mainly) and the actual flight that it was perhaps going to be on may have been either cancelled or delayed. But calling Canada post and having them tell me that they don't know where it is and I'll have to wait till Tuesday to get any answers, really, really pisses me off. I have to wait over 72 hours to get any sort of answers. Factor in my flight being next thursday and it cuts things rather close, leaving very little time to fix it if things go terrible wrong.

Not exactly a great situation.
