I am interested in the unit, but have absolutely no idea how to remove or install one of these things? Is this something that would be difficult to do by myself with basiclly no tools except a screwdriver set? (I am assuming yes..) Anyone care to chime in here?

I wouldn't try it.
At the minimum you need a set of wrenches (or an adjustable wrench) to remove the hoses and you'd need an impact drill with a masonry bit to mount the bracket to hang the unit on the wall. You'd also need to punch a hole through the wall (or the window) to run the hoses. All that and you'll probably need more coolant because you're sure to lose some when you take off the hoses. |

It isn't something that is difficult, but, as mentioned above, you probably don't have the correct tools for the job.
The good thing is that, dependent upon where you live, there should be a second hand shop that can install it for you. I have seen quotes from 50-80K won for installation of a unit that is not bought from them.

I have removed many AC units. I'm the pro at this.
1st, remove any stupid ideas about being environmentally friendly. Your in Korea where the poor country people burn their garbage to stay warm while they avoid spending w500 on a garbage bag.
Take a wrench to the lines at the big outside box loosening them untill a nice smelly smoky flow of refrigerent (a.k.a. gas) begins to flow out into the air. The stuff is oily, so have a rag handy. Oh yeah, ... run away. You shouldn't breathe that crap.
Return to finish(e) the uninstallation job when the hissing has stopped and the cloud has disipated.
Try not to bend the copper lines too much, the installation guy might be able to reuse them.
Take your new AC home and set it up yourself as best you can.
Call the local A/C A-S guy and get him to finish(e) the job and recharge it with gas (refrigerant).
Enjoy the cool summer. |

Sorry not to have responded earlier, but I haven't really been checking this. I'm not the seller; I'm just posting the ad for him as he doesn't have an account here.
I believe that unhooking the air conditioner would be fairly easy and simple. Installation might require some professional assistance, though I think that a competent landlord or building maintenance person would be able to do it fairly easily.
