Shocking! Bush is politicizing something he shouldn't!
But here's the thing: Obama fell into Bush's trap. Note to Obama: you're running against McCain, not Bush.
Quote:
Why is no one talking about the HUGE opportunity that Obama let pass him by? He could have publicly declined to comment on the President's comments citing the long standing custom of not criticizing a sitting president while abroad. He looks presidential and post-partisan. Then hold a presser in front of the gates of Andrews when the President arrives home. The second Air Force One touches down, unleash the attack. I thought he was supposed to be a new kind of politician, but he played right into the hands of McCain. Somewhere McCain is smiling about all the Jewish votes he just secured in Florida. This could not have been teed up more perfectly, yet Obama's camp found a way to slice it into the woods.
Exactly. Obama's big pitch was to ditch partisanship. Well, what did you think that was going to take, Obama? And McCain's camp gets to respond with this:
Quote:
It was remarkable to see Barack Obamas hysterical diatribe in response to a speech in which his name wasnt even mentioned. These are serious issues that deserve a serious debate, not the same tired partisan rants we heard today from Senator Obama. Senator Obama has pledged to unconditionally meet with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- who pledges to wipe Israel off the map, denies the Holocaust, sponsors terrorists, arms Americas enemies in Iraq and pursues nuclear weapons. What would Senator Obama talk about with such a man? It would be a wonderful thing if we lived in a world where we dont have enemies. But that is not the world we live in, and until Senator Obama understands that, the American people have every reason to doubt whether he has the strength, judgment and determination to keep us safe.
I love the hysterical part, though. Hysterical is the madness caused in woman by lack of sex. We're going to see McCain attack Obama's effeminacy again and again. Meanwhile, Camp McCain is getting to define Obama's position. Obama: save the nuance for when you govern. In the meantime, play politics old-style. Its clear you can't cut it being post-partisan, as you've promised. |

Oh yeah. That's the connotation in modern usage...
Attorney General Mukasey feminizes himself:
Quote:
But in any event, thank you for inviting me here, and making me a little less hysterical
Footie star made effeminate by doctors:
Quote:
The troubled former England football star was being assessed by doctors after going "hysterical" at a leading London hotel.
Lebanese's man's wife can only think about sex at news of husband's death:
Quote:
Mr Issa said Mr Sheikh's wife was hysterical. "Absolutely hysterical, she can't even speak,"
