I'm looking to get a LCD monitor to use with my laptop here and was wondering if anyone know's if any of these korean brands are good. I do photography and design so I'd like one with a decent contrast ratio and what not. Also do anyone know how much the average price for one is? I would like 22 inch or 24 inch. (30 would be nice hehe).

Samsung is nice.

PCBank is also a very good brand.

Quality on any LCD will vary, even from the same manufacturer, so look at it yourself.

The fact is the most panels are manufactured by Samsung and LG. Some Hyundai as well, but most Korean brands use the same 3 manufacturer lcd panels in their monitors. Your better knowing which Panels are good then just looking on the back of the monitor to see what panel it has in it.

Oh don't buy Samsung they use cheap shit panels half the time in their monitors. (Made in China)

I prefer LG panels myself.

Yea, LG and Samsung make LCD screens for each other, but this isn't to say both don't have their own proprietary technologies.

Be aware. Both Samsung and LG use third-party panels made in China for the cheap models. They just brand those as Samsung/LG LCD monitors. I'd rather buy a third-party brand with a Samsung/LG panel inside.

I have a PC Bank wide screen monitor. I like it. PC Bank has a horribly generic logo, but it uses Samsung LCD panels. Regardless of where they're made, they're still Samsung, for half the price. I actually like watching movies on my 20 inch widescreen monitor as much as I like watching movies on my 32 inch Samsung LCD TV. I think it's a good buy.
