In Toronto, I was under the impression the subway was also financed, partially, by property tax and business tax. A business close to the subway enjoys more biz. A house or condo near the subway is worth more. |

In Toronto, with high gas and the TTC being crap, lots of people decided to put their bikes back on the road. Bike shops all across the GTA are booked up solid doing "tune up" and repair work on bikes:
