Movie critics usually give low grades to action movies and kids movies.
Gay cowboys? They LOVE that genre. |
Because that was one of the most poignant movies of the decade. |

| I saw it in Vegas after my course wrapped up early and had 9 hours before the flight back. Good popcorn flick but slightly overlong. |

I liked it, although sometimes I wasn't quite sure. It's like an ocular orgasm that's rubbing your eyeballs raw.
Anyway. I'm quite certain there have been worse movies made.
Like "It's Pat". |

Just thought I'd add my 20원. I was really looking forward to this movie. I enjoyed watching the cartoon as a kid, not that I can specificly remember much about the cartoon. Other than the basics, like it was about racing, the main characters and I liked it. When the movie came out it got such bad reviews that I didn't go see it right away.
Checked on my movie download site and it showed up so figured i'd check the quality. (image quality ended up being a handy cam version) So I watched the first 30 minutes of the movie and decided I wanted to go so it. I can see why some people didn't like the movie, but that doesn't mean it should be given bad reviews by everyone. I really enjoyed the movie, I'm glad I went to see it in the theater. (on a side note I went to a 9:30 showing this week and I was the only person in the theater, literely, not a single soul).
The movie seems to follow the cartoon pretty good. I liked the racing and it seemed like a good overall movie. Now granted it would have been better at like 1 hour 45 minute running time but still it wasn't a horrible movie, and it was no where near bad enough to leave in the middle. That reminds me, I haven't really ever seen a movie that I wanted to leave in the middle... until I saw 'Michael Clayton' with George Clooney. Good heavens that had to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I watched it here in Korea and the only reason i stayed was because i thought it would get better. Comming out of the theater all of the Korean people were complaining how bad it was. Just strange.. maybe I didn't get the movie. My wife really really really wanted to leave during the movie but I kept saying it would get better, it had to. Just didn't.
Right, sooo, back to Speed Racer. I enjoyed it. I recomend it to those that enjoyed the cartoon, or even japanese anime in general. |
