What is your opinion for the best one. I'm looking for a shooting style more than a strategy one.

Once upon a time I played Jedi Knight II: Outcast. It was pretty fun.

Battlefront I and II are the Starwars shooter games. Not bad.

Jedi Knight was awesome. You learn to use a light saber and Jedi powers. Really immersive and cool FPS game.

The is also Knights of the Old Republic RPG that has won rave reviews at various websites. I haven't tried it.

I wasn't overly impressed with Battlefront II.

Lego Star Was was great fun!

Yeah! I wish they'd bring out some new games like Tie Fighter and X-Wing...X-Wing vs Tie Fighter lacked the strong campaign mode and that other one, where you were a freighter pilot sometimes...blech, never did like the missions you did for your family in the Corellian transport...

Tie fighter was the best, then probably the dark forces games. They're all pretty old now though, so if I were you I'd take a look at Jedi Outcast. Battlefront is fine if you don't mind "arcade" style gameplay, but Outcast is really the superior game.

KOTOR isn't really shoot em up, but is definitely a quality game. Recommended if you like RPGs or Star Wars.

I was just wondering the other day, why in the hell don't they make a new X-wing/TIE type flight combat game? I loved those games and would love to see what they could do with modern graphics. Am I just nostalgic? Do those games really have such limited appeal these days? Nobody makes anything but FPS'rs anymore?

X3 was the last decent spaceship game that I remember. It was privateer, not shooter style.

I don't remember and really GOOD Wingcommander/Tie Fighter style games recently. Someone enlighten us if you know some.

Lucas Arts should just keep Tie Fighter's gameplay and just make the graphics badass. It'll sell.

I've spent so many years waiting for a game as good as the Wing Commander games...still waiting...

For me, the Wing Commander series (especially the first couple) and the X-Wing and Tie Fighter games were some of the best games ever made for the PC.

A while back, before I came to Korea, I was looking into a bunch of people independently trying to make new Wing Commander games from the old code. Free downloads and all that. It looked interesting, but they hadn't progressed to full campaigns yet. Might have to check up on how they're doing...

KOTOR is awesome, the second while not quite as good, is still worth while for any RPG fans.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is the newest of the shooter series I believe (though I am somewhat out of date). Also, by new, I mean like 4years old or something like that. Maybe it's older, but the multiplayer is still well worth while if you have some buddies that are up for it.

Otherwise, battlefront is good if you want something new with decent graphics.
