Very Terrible....

1000 won now equals $1 (Australian dollar).

Back in 2000/2001 1000 won = $1.50 (good for sending money back home).

1 million won used to get me $1,500 (Australian dollars) now I only get $1000.

When is this going to stop?

Come on Korea! Where is that backwards, worthless and stupid jingoistic nationalism when your economy really needs it?

Strong won, strong Korea!

I sent home 1.4 Million Won last month and got 696 pounds in return.

Did the same yesterday and only got 676 (or there abouts), not that the extra 20 quid would actually buy you much back in the UK though.

I am curious how much you are sending a month...to take a $400 hit would be over $5000 a month or at a time.

I figure on $15,000 cdn, at the present exchange rate I would lose $1000 dollars compared to the exchange rate of when I last sent money to Canada. That is pretty lame.

I hope the government takes their heads out of their asses and realize that the cost of all things coming into Korea is going to go through the roof.
