as far as water bags go, yea, i suppose you could take one, but you'll find that with the big hills, saving weight in your pack will become more important to you than being clean. you might start out with a 50 pound pack, but youll start sending stuff home soon enough

i never used it, but aquamira was a very popular way to treat water. 2 1-oz bottles are much lighter than a big-ass 1 pound pump, and no maintenance

You can bath in local streams.

but please dont use soap or shampoo, as that would be polluting the environment, and other peoples drinking water. just rinse off. i did it all the time in new england (never immediately upstream from where people were getting water). the cold, bracing water on your skin after a hot day is the greatest sensation
