You want hypocrisy without all the " blah blah blah Americans suck" attitude?

This made my head spin when I first heard the news.

Quote:
The June 20 front-page article "U.S. Troops Frustrated With Role in Iraq" revealed that despite being able to deploy overwhelming military power, the United States lacks peacekeeping capabilities. Ironically, the Defense Department will close the Peacekeeping Institute at the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania this October.

Why, with expanding peacekeeping requirements in Afghanistan and Iraq and peacekeeping forces still deployed in the Balkans, is the Pentagon closing the United States' only peacekeeping school? The United States cannot rely on allies to do all of the cleaning up after its military conflicts. Allies will grow weary of U.S. military interventions if they are expected to keep the peace every time. What's more, military conflict has its gray areas. As the article showed, soldiers are confronted with intense battle one moment and peacekeeping and policing duties the next. Even with the help of allies, U.S. soldiers still need these skills

Bush should have been chucked out on his ass for dereliction of duty based on this one early decision alone. Billions upon billions of dollars to kill. Not a single goddamn fucking penny to help train soldiers and their officers deal with the conflict at hand. Fucking makes me furious. This is hypocrisy people.

Also, don't forget to thank the wonderful press for letting G.W get away with that call. Rolling Eyes

Flip ant and Ukon......I didn't know Gis needed civilians to rescue them on this forum.........

As for not wearing a uniform a day in my life.....you have no idea about me.....thats ok, you can generalize all you want, this is suppose to be a 'free' message board....more power to you for expressing your opinion....

As for getting personal?
Way above that point in my life, I have no need to personally flame people...its too cheesy and pointless to insult people on an anonymous message board because you are only insulting the name of the person, not the person themselves...... Wink

Anyway, take care and have a nice day Very Happy

I still think American soldiers are nothing more than over-inflated, undereducated self-propelled sandbags whose sole purpose in life are to be fodder for IEDs.....

Other than that
Cheers*

It's cheezy and pointless to insult individuals online, but not if you generalize millions by insulting them online.

Your a weird one.

But I CAN ridicule and insult something I notice.....because:

1. I am an American
2. I AM a soldier (called back to duty under title 10, US Code, section 12304 and the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.))

So I call it as I see it..... Wink

I am not one to talk on grammar...but.......

What's wrong with shooting a Koran? I bet they could have shot, wiped their rear ends with, rolled tobacco into the pages of and smoked, blown their noses into, wiped puke off their mouths with, dressed up in Nazi garb and burned Bibles, but Islam forbids desecration of the Koran. F%#$%ing double standard.

Yes. We treat them like excitable little children who can't play with the big boys.

I wonder why:

Ok....I will admit for the first time in my 5 years here......I don't always use spell-check.......but I try to make every effort to use it when I can Sad

Your moral indignation might have more impact had you actually bothered to research and follow up on this story. That's from September '03...here's something from DECEMBER '03

I do stand corrected. That is good news. I watch the news religiously and have no recollection of ever seeing it reported that it would not actually be closed. I guess my dinner of crow just highlights the simple fact that one shouldn't be passive in determining the truth. Cheers Urban.

OP:

Assuming you are as you claim:

Quote:
What bothers me is that everytime an incident happens, the senior leadership is always quick to blame the individuals for the crimes that are committed by the soldiers under their command.......

As I was (am) a soldier, I would like to say that is utter bullshit!!!
Many times, it is the senior leadership, the NCOs and the Officers, that foster the mentality of ignorance and arrogance thats rampant throughout the American Armed Forces.

The operative phrase in underlined, and the strength or weakness of your contention pivots thereon.

And if you believe non-coms are a more enlightened bunch than officers, then I've got a London bridge in Arizona to sell to you.

Oh No!

I think NCOs' are nothing more than privates on a power-trip, especially those that just receive their stripes for the first time.
When I got my stripes (then my bars), I was not worried about the miniscule bullshit that many were hawking about and I didn't go on a power trip either......

Could it be that I am above all the 'mind the small details' crap?

My work ethic: if you can do your job, that's it!
Nothing more, nothing less

and I base my quarterly evals and NCOERs off of that.......why pick on people because you have nothing to do and why turn it into a personality conflict the way many Officers and NCOs do?

I feel more comfortable in an office doing office work rather than in the field because thats when many of my peers personalities come out and it is shitty beyong belief......

My advice: To those thinking of joining, don't and to those already in, get out and get a real education and a real job Very Happy
My wisedom for the day Wink

Do you mean, can I add?
Surprisingly enough, yes I can Mr. Green
I first learned addition in elementary school....and in middle and high school......and I took some more courses in university which not only allowed me a chance to add in different ways (such as using variables and such).....but I got enough credits to earn my BA.......... Cool

However, I don't think hijacking a thread about such an important matter will assist in inflating one's libido much.....it is fun to read, but it does take some time to get around the tomfoolery.....
