Does anyone have any luck with the search function? I find it completely useless unless I'm just not doing it correctly. I normally get hundreds sometimes thousands of results, usually not helping me at all. Like how do I search for Kids College, using more than one search term just takes me to a blank page. Also if I search for something like BIS it will return totally irrelevant results like BIShop or BIStro etc.
Any tips?

it doesn't work. it's been complained about for a long time.

if you search for a single word that is timely and not that common, perhaps "bactrian" and it's there, you will most likely find your post.

if you search for a phrase, your search will just return the whole board, with posts mixed up from different subforums. i.e. a search for "red door itaewon" will also return polls like "how sexy are korean girls when they wear bikinis made of kimchi"? and other unrelated nonsense.

in short, don't bother. it'll just frustrate you.

Use Google advanced search. You can pop the domain name in down the bottom

Google Advanced Search

You can also use 'site' in your search bar to search any domain/site

e.g. Kids college site:http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/

results

Search for Keywords:
You can use AND to define words which must be in the results, OR to define words which may be in the result and NOT to define words which should not be in the result. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches

You have to follow the instructions written to the left of the search bar to get anything out of it.

In saying that, it's still a pretty bad search engine.

That's why I never get mad with people who post a thread that has been done to death in the past. People say "Try searching, knucklehead." Trouble is it doesn't work.

BTW eamo: I like your avatar. Quadrophenia is one of my favourite movies ever. Can't get hold of it on DVD anywhere in Seoul, though. Crying or Very sad

Yeah. You probably won't find Quadrophenia on a shelf in Korea. But you could order from a larger CD/DVD store, like Evans in COEX. Or, you could be a mad lawbreaker and download it! Laughing

Either way, worth it. Great movie. I have my DVD from UK here in Korea. I stick it on once a year and get all nostalgic about my teens.......
