Yeah, I'll be popping by the other site once in a while. The cigar club looks interesting.
Humidor? I have a 500 stick Elie Bleu. Does a great job. You?
I agree that most of the CAOs are good smokes, but that they lack depth. I've had a couple of CAO Blacks, though, and they were a bit stronger. Like you, I like a fuller boddied smoke.
Damn. Now I'm going to have to go have a stoggie. So be it!
Oh, and if you know anyone who needs a travel humidor, let me know. I have the Reed and Barton/Diamond Crown travel humidor (originally 220.00, I think), and a leather Pheasant 25 stick (retail at 250.00, I think) that I could part with. Truth is, I just don't use them much. They'd be fine for someone who just wants to store a limited number of sticks, too. Reasonable offers considered. Would be nice to see them go to someone who will use them. |

That was a pretty good smoke, and as they're going for only 168 a box now on cigarsofhabanos.com, a pretty economical one, too.
I'm at the tail end of a box of these, and they're shaping up well. Straight forward tobacco taste with cedar and some light coffee undertones. Great draw and burn. Clean finish. Not a complex banger, but a good medium to full boddied cigar in my book. |

Here's a link for a Noro leather travel humidor that looks like the RD Gomez/Pheasant travel humidor I have. Mine is tan. Personally, I like the Pheasant better, but at least this will give you an idea what it looks like. The line by Pheasant has been discontinued, so I couldn't find a link.

| Pretty hard to narrow down my favorite cigar. Since I've started smoking I've rarely smoked the same cigar twice. But the ones I have really liked so far and have smoked more than one stick of are Monte no. 2 and no.4's, Bolivar tubos no. 2, La Aurora 1495, Fuente cuban belicoso, Flor de Oliva corojo, CAO Brazilia and criollo, Torano casa torano (for a mild morning smoke) and La flor dominican chisel maduro. |

Wow, that's a pretty impressive selection. The LaAurora isn't a cheap smoke, if I recall, and has gotten some pretty good ratings.
Where do you get your non-Cubans? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a box of Padilla, or some Nat Sherman corona/petit corona.
I like some of the CAOs, but not when they get into the larger ring gauges. For some reason, it seems like they're trying to compensate for lower robustness and complexity by pumping more smoke through larger ring sizes. |

Through the years, I (and many others) have figured out what the "best of the best" in cigar accessories are. In September 2005, I got a friend of mine into smoking cigars. He got hooked pretty quickly and wanted my help in buying a cutter, lighter and humidor. We went to the typical cigar accessory website to pick him up some items.
After spending about 1 hour sifting through all the inferior product, we placed his order and he was like a kid waiting for Christmas. About two days later, he called to tell me that 2 of the 3 items were on "back order" and would take weeks to get. They asked if he wanted something else instead.
Needless to say, he was very disappointed. I then realized that through the years, we cigar smokers have come to accept this kind of customer service in the hobby. That's when I decided to try something different. (LOL!) Here is the Cigarmony.com mantra:
1.) Provide the best customer service I possibly can. I try to live by my motto of "People before pennies".
2.) Carry only "the best of the best" in each category. This is through years of use and collective information from other cigar smokers. The idea behind this is that anyone can be rest assured that any product they purchase from Cigarmony.com has been time tested and they don't have to sort through the inferior products to find the ones they know to be the best.
Any new product added to site is tested for an extended period of time before being added. Several aspects are examined, including price, quality, warranty and the mfg's customer service.
3.) Everything that is on the site is in stock and ready to ship! Nothing bothers me more than the "on back order" b.s. If something goes out of stock, it is removed from the site until it is within 2 days of arriving. Occasionally there is overlap between customer orders that screws this up sometimes but for the most part, it goes fairly smoothly.
Anyway, some people like to know who they are dealing with and thought you may (sorry for such a long email)

Sounds like a nice guy, but as far as the business goes, I'm not too impressed. The customer service angle is all well and good, but the products are the same mass produced goods that every other store offers.
Save yourself a LOT of money. You can buy anything on that site off of E-Bay for 50-80% off those prices or more. Do a humidor search, for example, and you'll see all of the same boxes listed on that site, even the cabinets. |

The La Aurora 1495 series are pretty reasonably priced, around $5-6 (in the US, ie not taxed to shit like in Canada) for a corona/robusto. The Aurora preferidos are expensive, haven't tried any of them, but heard they are a really nice smoke.
I get all my non cubans from the states, brought them with me from Canada when I came here. Padilla makes some good smokes, I had a padilla Habano the other night, it was pretty good. Never had a Nat sherman, but I've heard they are a nice mild smoke. |

| I've heard great things about cigarmony, but never purchased anything from them. If you want a great humidification device, the RH beads they sell work awsome. you can also get them from heartfeltindustries.com, where I think they are cheaper. |

| Two more "favorite cigars' of mine, Ashton VSG and cohiba maduro. ONly had one Cohiba maduro and it was amazing, so damn expensive though. |

Having just dealt with another company that was cheaper... and having recieved a 2 week delay and terrible customer service... I don't mind to pay an extra dollar or two to have things done the right way.
Nuff said. |
