myeong dong station...exit 2 or 3........if you are going for a visa, just get it through the travel agent....that embassy is a freakin mess....closed everyday for lunch which results in huge lines every morning and afternoon

The latest Escort Seoul map I looked at, had the Chinese consulate located at Tongui Dong, west of Gyeongbukgong Palace. There is a Gyeongbukgong subway station. Take exit 3.

Ignore that advice. Namsan / Myeong Dong consulate for Chinese visas.

LP had a recent thread:

I heard that starting from the beginning of this year, the Chinese Embassy would no longer be open to personal callers (i.e. you have to submit your visa application through a travel agent). Perhaps someone can confirm this.

Yes, this was the case for me. I applied for my visa last October and I had to go through a travel agent.

There are a ton of travel agents doing this on the way up the hill from Myong-dong station. The Embassy has set fees, so learn these first, (can be read at the main gate to the embassy) so they don't over charge you.
