I'm looking for a laptop bag for school and want something professional, either with a handle or something like a purse with long handles. Would it be best to buy one in Seoul or bring from the US? Are the bags of good quality and cheap price? I wouldn't mind paying around 30,000-50,000 won for a good bag. I suppose I can settle with a sleeve, but I want something that is durable and will fit in a tote bag. In Target there are some good bags, but I feel like I might be able to get a good deal in Seoul.
Can anyone suggest a place in Seoul where there is a big selection if I opt to wait until I get to Korea?

Sorry Molly, I bought a laptop here & it came with a free bag so I don't know where to buy just a bag. However I can say that I got to choose which bag I wanted and the range was pretty nice - a variety of colours & styles. This was through an online Korean store - unsure which one as it was all in Korean, my friend did the reading I just looked at all the pretty pictures!
Good luck. |

30,000-50,000 won??? or 300,000-500,000?
You won't find ANYTHING in your price range if it is indeed between 30 to 50K.
An OK bag in Korea means at least over 100K... and you can find those in Itaewon. A GOOD bag is those you find in department store like Lotte and Shinsegae... and those start at over 200K +, minimum.
You're better off bringing one back from the USA because in Korea, briefcase and laptop bags are considered *men's bags* and they are not really all that pretty. I know, I've searched high and low for one for a number of years and in the end, brought one back from Hong Kong where things are a lot more reasonably priced. |
