I saw it opening night and thought it was great. I do believe Indy is at his best when confronting Nazis and Judeo-Christian subject material, but this was unique and refreshing. Loved how they left open that huge can of worms about Indy's WWII exploits. I'd love to see that developed. |

the fact is that Lucas shitcanned the original, multi dimensional script. Instead, they went with a formula, smooth edges script. |

I saw it last night and loved it. Although it is a case of Indiana Jones being like pizza...you know you're going to like it regardless of what it presents.
Actually I like how Roger Ebert put it in his review; "If you eat four pounds of sausage, how do you choose which pound tasted the best? Well, the first one, of course..."
Really, it's not the best of the series (that would hands down go to "Raiders", in my opinion), nor is it the worst (*IF* a worst film in this series does exist, I'd say it was "Temple of Doom") but it's a lot of fun with some great action sequences, and really, isn't that what everyone wants from Indy?

Hilarious only because of how bad it is. The movie sucked in all other areas aside from some special effects. |

They were filming some of it in New Haven last year, so alot of people here are going to see it to see if their face made the final cut in the film..... |

i just got back from watching it at COEX Mall. The theater was near full for the 8am show.
Crystal Skull is far weaker than Crusade but far more interesting than Crusade. I remember being bored stiff through Crusade (except the actual grail scene near the end). Crystal Skull was wacked in a T of Doom kind of way but more interesting. All the acting was fine in this movie - the Shia loathing is sheer jealousy by 30+ year old indy fans. He did a good job.
A bit depressing reading on wiki (before I saw crystal) that the crystal skulls are a mere fraud - produced in Germany in the 20th century.
MINOR SPOILER ALERT: (don't read if you want to avoid very minor spoilage)
It appears National Treasure: Book of Secrets makers/studio/writer had some input into the Crystal Skull storyline. A bit of thunder stealing although Book of Secrets is a piece of dung. I won't go into detail. See both and you'll see for yourself. |

Don't see the movie unless you have a mancrush on Harrison Ford or a fecal fetish. |
