I think you are far too obsessed with other people's weight. From what you say about yourself, you need to concentrate on your own little belly. Your weight will be far more damaging to your health than Alanis's will be to hers.
By 'medically fat' I meant medically overweight. |
aahh but you see I don't HAVE a belly.
that's call knowing what your line in the sand is..
that's MINE.
medically overweight is another definition you yourself came up with without providing any reference. When I google your term, only BMI comes up. (BMI is useless for athletes, especially male athletes.. many elite RB's are for e.g. 5'10 and 215-220 bs that would make them quite obese based on BMI)
while I acknowledge that so called apple shapes are in greater health danger than pear shapes, it's fair to say being fat isn't desireable for either bodyshape.
I admit to getting a kick out of bringing up the fat issue on boards such as this one because nothing makes the fur fly faster and it's fascinating to watch the fat apologists come out of the woodwork.
It's entertaining (to a point). Ultimately however, I don't give a shit about how someone else looks. It's THEIR problem, not mine (actually I do care about women, more fatties means more competition and less options for me, more male fatsos is good because it means less competition and more options for me. )
and ukon I may have my foibles but I prefer to bitch and moan than the very masculine method of drowning my sorrows, bitches and moans in endless bottles of alcohol |

I always wished that she was a little cuter...but she never was.
I have never seen a sexy picture of her...if she were a little bit cute, she would be very sexy with that voice and all....jmho |
Cuter?
Check out her early years.

For someone who doesn't care about anyone's else weight, you sure do harp on it a lot. Sort of like the God Hates Fags people. What, exactly, scares you?
As for the waist size thing... Google "Dr Oz waistline 35." |

you guys are funny.
actually I am fortunate that when I put on weight I tend to do distribute it all over, rather than most of it going into the gut.
the pants might get tight.. but there's never much of anything sticking out and/or hanging over. One pants size is also a good indicator.. the moment you need to change the pants size, you know it's time to hit the brakes.
that's the clearest line in the sand I can imagine.
when I lose 10, I'll look pretty good. The 20 is a more personal/ripped kins of a goal.
The day I allow that to happen without taking immediate preventative/reversive action is the day I may as well jump off a cliff. |

Dr Oz's guidelines make little sense if your size/height isn't taken into the equation.
for a 5'5 male to have 35 inch waist is different from a 6-2 male having the same waist. (then there is the bone size issue)
similar with females.
p.s. lot of fat men in the oprah audience I wear size 36 pants now and it's a size too big. Should wear 34.. and have them fit loosely when in top shape, and I'm fairly large framed and 5'11 |

| She HAS put on quite a bit of weight, indeed. She was so skinny back then, if I remember. It's quite shocking change. Nothing alarming, but she definitely puffed up. I never liked her singing. |

So you just admitted you're a troll.
Congratulations. The first step is admitting you have--or in your case, are--a problem. |

While sand all over a vagina I can understand, what manner of perversion would get sand all over a uterus? |

the kind of perversion that crams dumb inside a brain to the point where a person would care about a stranger's weight. |

once again, the amusement never ceases.
btw.. Morrissette as recently as several years ago was already no Barbie..definitely a little thicker than her Jagged Little Pill days.. and actually looked BETTER IMO.
the reason "fat apologists" amuse me is because one cannot these days simply state the truth that someone is fat.. it's considered insensitive and almost akin to using the "n" word, with the major difference that the n word is a slur and fat is simply a common and historically accepted adjective.
Only in the US though.. in Latin America people are very matter of fact about it.. and actually much less sensitive about the facts of whether they are or not.
fat people are often nicknamed gordo/gorda and skinny people are nicknamed flaco/flaca.
the other most amusing thing about fat apologists is how they will argue till they're blue in the face how someone who's fairly obviously fat isn't really fat at all.. but "healthy".. or "curvy".. etc etc
then they will call any woman who actually isn't fat "size zero Barbie", where the truth is that there are tons (well less and less but they still exist) of shapely, great looking and non starving women of sizes 4, 6 and even 8. Some women can even pull off looking hot in a size 10.
out of curiosity.. how do you teach fat vs thin in ESL?
or do you just choose to skip teaching that to the children? hahahaha
Alanis' choice of weight doesn't really break my heart that much.. but using "heart" as a segway... what happened to Ann Wilson of Heart does.
Perhaps the best female rock voice in history was smoking hot in her youth/prime. Smoking.
Then someone plugged her mouth into a food hose and she exploded. Interestingly enough, her not quite as hot, but still attractive and talented sister Nancy's did not.
here's Ann smoking and rocking

(Fergie should've known better than try to tackle this song)
and then... well.. I don't quite have an adjective for her current appearance.
please note her similarly aged sister's appearance.
still a great voice though and thru the bloated face she's STILL pretty. Just a shame though.
