A couple of my kindergartens have 9 marks on the arm in the shape of a square, and I'm really curious as to why. Someone told me it has to do with buddhism, but I've tried to look it up online and I've come up with nothing. Anyone have any info?

Well, I was told this was some sort of medium / psychic shop. I can't say precisely what it is, but I can tell you what it isn't.

The marks on the arm are from one of the immunization series that the kids get (I forgot which one). There are actually 2 squares of 9 spots each. If only 1 is visible, the scars from the other have gone away.

The reverse swastika is the Buddhist symbol. (they had it for about a thousand years before it ever found its way to Europe).

Sure, glad to help.

I'll take "Things you don't do at the hagwan for $500, Alex.

Where is the mark? On the inside from the elbow?

I've heard of a ceremony when people take the Five Precepts where they get a burn on the arm.
