I currently work at a PS and it's usually pretty good but I'm interested in moving on in September.
One job I'm interested in wants a reference from my current employer. I should get a good one but am wondering if it's wise to ask for one with 3 months left? I've heard Koreans can get pretty sour with this kind of thing but in England it wouldn't be a problem... |

I would ask the best co-teacher you have, or ask a principal if he/she is nice. Many public school organizations won't write one, you have to look towards an individual. |

Take your vice principal a gift. Fruit, chocolates, etc. Tell him or her how much you have enjoyed working there, and that your time there is something you are proud of. Tell them that future employers, 5, 10 and 15 years down the road, will ask for a letter from the school, but by then, no one will remember you. I wouldn't say "letter of recommdation". They know what you want. They might ask what it should say. Tell them that it should say that you weren't drunk very much at school, didn't smoke in class much at all, and except for mondays, almost always came to school. Koreans DO understand humor. |

My school wrote me a recommendation. Basically, my coteacher wrote it, handed it to the Principal, told the principal what it was, and the prinicpal signed it. After it was signed, we went over to themain office where htey put the official school stamp on it. |
